Puddle of Mudd is an American post-grunge band from Kansas City, Missouri formed in 1992 by Wes Scantlin.

The group's first album, “Stuck,” was released in 1994 on V&R Records. The album was produced by the band and E.J. Rose, and was recorded at Red House Studio in Lawrence, Kansas. It spawned two radio singles, “You Don't Know” and “Drift and Die.”

The group released a second album, “Abrasive,” in 1997 on Hardknocks Records. It had eleven tracks, all written by the band, three of which would eventually make it on to Puddle of Mudd's first major label release.

Their major-label debut album, “Come Clean,” was released in 2001. The single, “She Hates Me” reached #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart and “Blurry,” peaked at #5. The album peaked at #9 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart and was certified 3x platinum by the RIAA.

Puddle of Mudd's follow up, “Life on Display,” was released in 2003 and reached #20 on the Billboard 200 chart. It spawned one hit single, “Away from Me,” which reached #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. Two additional minor hits included, “Spin You Around” and “Heel Over Head.” The album has been certified 3x platinum.

In 2007 the band released their third major label record, “Famous,” which peaked at #27 on the Billboard 200. The single, “Psycho” garnered immense popularity, topping both the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks and Hot Modern Rock Tracks charts for nine weeks.

“Volume 4: Songs in the Key of Love & Hate,” their fourth major label studio album, was released in 2009 and peaked at #95 on the Billboard 200. “Spaceship,” “Stoned” and “Keep It Together” have been released as singles from the album.
