Ray Price was born on January 12, 1926 in Perryville, Texas and is a country music singer, songwriter and guitarist. Price is best known for his hit songs, which include “Release Me,” “Crazy Arms,” “My Shoes Keep Walking Back to You,” “You're the Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me” and “Danny Boy.” Price was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1996 and got his start in music in 1948 when he landed the job singing for KRBC in Abilene, Texas. A year later, Price had joined Big D Jamboree in Dallas before relocating to Nashville in 1950, where he befriended Hank Williams.
