Country singer Janette Carter, of cuuntry music's founding family, the Carters, 82 (1/22); and actor Chris Penn, 40, brother of actor Sean Penn who starred in Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs (1/24). And Coretta Scott King (76), civil rights activist and wife of Martin Luther King, Jr (1/30).

After years of admiring each other's musical masterworks and Clapton covers of Cale songs such as "After Midnight" and "Cocaine," guitar greats J.J. Cale and Eric Clapton have teamed up for the first time to create an original album together, The Road To Escondido. The 14 track CD was produced and recorded by the duo in August 2005 in California.

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Grammy® Award winner Sam Moore -- the voice so identified with his classic hits "Hold On! I'm Comin", "I Thank You," and of course "Soul Man" "-- recently completed an astonishing new solo album project 'Sam Moore: Overnight Sensational' (August 29, Rhino Records). Bass player/record executive/talent judge Randy Jackson served as producer for Moore, long famous as the seminal voice of the duo bearing his name.
