Gwen Stefani Leads New Albums To Check Out This Week

3/15/2016 2:30pm EDT
Gwen Stefani's 'This Is What The Truth Feels Like' Leads Albums
Ah, the time has finally come – a star-studded music release week in March! Last week was relatively quiet on the new release front, with 3 Doors Down arguably being the most notable musicians to drop a new album. This week, there’s some “beef”…or something like that! Gwen Stefani certainly leads the charge, but she’s not without competition from The Voice winner Jordan Smith, a captivating star-studded Americana/country collaboration, and an R&B standout who sounds like a perfect mix of two late soul icons (Luther Vandross and Teddy Pendergrass). AND THERE’S EVEN MORE!!! Here are seven alb...

Pop posted the news on his Facebook page on Sunday, writing, "My dear friend Scott Asheton passed away last night. Scott was a great artist, I have never heard anyone play the drums with more meaning than Scott Asheton. He was like my brother. He and Ron have left a huge legacy to the world. The Ashetons have a...

Johnny Depp is facing legal action from a disabled woman who alleges she was assaulted by his security guards at a rock concert last December.

The punk icon has been famous for more than 40 years, after shooting to fame with his band The Stooges, and has amassed a fortune through millions of record sales and endless touring.

But the rocker admits he misses his impoverished youth in Michigan, because all his happy memories of hearing great music hail from that period.

He says, "Most of the great listening experiences I had I associate with the cheap, poor living condition-type homes my friends and I had. I would hear a record at someone's house and...

Seeing as how reclusive South African born filmmaker Richard Stanley is finally returning to the big screen with a segment in the horror anthology film "The Theatre Bizarre," why not bow to his debut feature...welcome to Forgotten Friday Flick! For those unaware, Stanley’s first film was a spectacular action/sci-fi/horror outing that had plenty of both style and substance. Targeted unfairly by the MPAA at the time for merely being released by the Weinstein Brothers helmed Miramax (which saw "The Cook, The Thief, His Wife & Her Lover" get the NC-17 as well!) company Millimeter Films, the c...

Joan Jett Joins Fight Against Canada's Seal Trade

6/7/2011 11:30am EDT
Joan Jett
Rocker Joan Jett has waded into the debate over Canada's controversial seal cull, urging European Union (E.U.) officials to uphold a ban on imported pelts.

Thousands of seals are clubbed to death annually in Canada as part of the controversial trade, which sees the mammals' pelts sold to firms in other countries, including Norway. Canadian and Norwegian authorities are challenging a Europe-wide ban and Jett insists they should make their arguments public as consumers have a right to know where their goods come from.

In a letter to Norway's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jonas Gahr Store, J...

Ke$ha hosted an evening at Chateau and an official "Get Sleazy" afterparty this weekend. The event was held at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino.

The pop star certainly dressed up, er, dressed down for the party in fishnet stockings, a torn-looking glittery dress, leather jacket, and biker boots.

Meanwhile, PETA recently launched a global campaign featuring Iggy Pop and Ke$ha. The ads feature the artists alongside an inset photo of a baby seal and the words "Canada's Club Scene Sucks." Ke$ha said, "The Canadian seal slaughter is barbaric and archaic. My music and my fans are part of ...

He told the crowd, "I need to thank Ron. He sort of peed this beautiful music all over me. When I started a band Ron was the first guy who go...

The campaign, set to run on music sites in several countries, aims to combat the Canadian government's attempts to market baby seal fur internationally in order to prop up the dying seal massacre. In addition to reaching young consumers online, PETA members will display the posters at concerts and maj...

'American Idol' Recap: Pia Toscano Goes Home On A Stunning Results Show

4/8/2011 9:14am EDT
Pia Toscano is eliminated
And once again, the judges have ruined the show.

Pia’s insane, stupid and shocking ouster last night is bound to bring forth a lot of theories: That voting is so dominated by young girls that females are at a decided disadvantage, that this is a competition dominated by guitar-voting boys and the rest is immaterial, and that the Producers rigged the voting to drive more interest. All of that will be in play, but I choose to ignore all those theories and put the blame for Pia’s leaving in one place: The judges’ table.

In the midst of a typical judging performance on a show night – that is ...

Fans have been warned not to expect any more albums from Iggy Pop and The Stooges - the band now sees full-length recordings as "irrelevant," according to guitarist James Williamson.

The group has only released four studio albums since its formation in the 1960s, with the last record, The Weirdness, hitting shelves in 2007 following the band's 2003 reunion.

Williamson, who rejoined The Stooges in 2009 following the death of Ron Asheton, admits they have no plans to record any more albums, but they might consider compiling a short EP.

He tells, "I think these days albums...

Iggy Pop Thinks Lindsay Lohan Should Play Him In Biopic

10/9/2010 8:15am EDT

"The Passenger" was to star Elijah Wood as the Stooges leader, but now Pop reveals the project is "on the shelf".

Talking to Australia's Triple J radio, Iggy says, "It's nothing against Elijah and the script was OK, but they sort of wanted me to jump out of cakes and do promotional things and I didn't really want to get involved.

"I didn't think it was time for someone else to tell our story because inevitably it's not just my story; it's everybody I worked with."

But I...

The trio was among the stars who agreed to be part of the PETA 30th anniversary petition.

The stars want McDonald's chiefs to heed the advice of the company's own advisory board and switch to the much less violent chicken slaughter method that McDonald's already uses in Europe.

1/27/2010 9:19am EST
American Idol Los Angeles
Last night was a vintage "American Idol" auditions show. It was a perfect mix of bad and good with the appropriate judges comments to match.

The good was really good, and the bad was YouTube-level awful. Several "Pants on the Ground" moments last night to match Susan Boyle-level brilliance. This was the show you always hope for when the commercials start airing for the upcoming season.

The guest judges matched the theme of the evening with one being absolutely awful (Avril Lavigne) and the other being completely spot on (Katy Perry). They're also both spokespeople for Proactiv, wh...
