Trey Anastasio
Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio is taking a break from recording the band's latest album to embark on a solo tour.

The 49 year-old musician is currently in the studio working on the group's forthcoming Wingsuit record, their first in four years, but he is going on a brief hiatus to hit the road on his own with the Trey Anastasio Band.

The U.S. tour, which will mark the first time the band has played since 2005, will kick off its tour on January 28th.

Before Anastasio goes on his solo tour, Phish is set to play four sold-out shows at New York City's Madison Square Garden, starting on Ne...

Phish, My Morning Jacket, Gov't Mule Play Tributes For Lou Reed

October 29th, 2013 12:47am EDT
Trey Anastasio
The song may have been in the band's repertoire since Halloween of 1998, but on Sunday night Phish opened their show at Hartford, Connecticut's XL Center with a bittersweet, yet rousing rendition of the Velvet Underground's "Rock & Roll" in tribute to late music legend Lou Reed.

Reed passed away earlier in the day due to complications stemming from a liver transplant he had back in May.

Following the eleven-and-a-half-minute epic, frontman Trey Anastasio asked the crowd for a moment of silence for "one of the greatest artists who's ever lived."

Prior to the show Anastasio posted a tribut...

Gabriel has since made it clear he wasn't completely opposed to the idea of a one-off tribute show with Phish and now superfan Anastasio is keen to make the concept concert happen.

He tells Rolling Stone magazine, "I'm such a b...

The jam band was planning to revisit the classic 1974 double album for a concert and approached Gabriel with the idea of fronting them for the prog-rock spectacular.

Gabriel tells, "They (Phish) do these projects where they take an old record and do it. I had a conversation about The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway with them at one point.

"They were thinking about it. That didn't go anywhere, but... I sort of thought about it."

On her daytime TV acting: "I was bad," she says, adding, "I had no idea what was going on." She said that acting and singing lessons helped her confidence.

"Remember, nobody's perfect. In Hollywood, people may seem perfect, but that's because they spend thousands on trainers and diets and surgeries. We're made to feel as if we're supposed to look like that, but it's not realistic at all. If you have a negative body image, exercise, but not for you...

Fashion WTFs: Jared Leto & Mickey Rourke

Jared Leto Mickey Rourke Wrestler Premiere
While we questioned Ciara's high-waisted pants at 'The Wrestler' movie premiere, nothing prepared us for Jared Leto and Mickey Rourke. The hairy and greasy Leto had on a ridiculous pair of glove/mittens and looked like he just came from a homeless shelter, Phish show or both. And Mickey Apparently there's a store that sells circus ringleader clothes? Even T-Pain wouldn't wear that.

Five Must-See Concerts Before You Die

July 14th, 2008 10:09am EDT
Led Zeppelin
Picture this scenario: you're on your deathbed, all of your finances are in order and amends have been made in every single one of your personal relationships. Something is wrong though; something keeps persistently gnawing at your emotions of regret until you realize that, as a fan of Rock and Roll, there were too many missed opportunities throughout your life. Too many nights, watching concerts from the latest fad, instead of seeing the true greats of arena history. If only you could go back in time, perhaps forgo that night wasted on The Spin Doctors and trade that experience for a night...

The festival surprise came just days after Gordon confirmed the group's longtime producer, Steve Lillywhite, is attempting to bring the quartet back together.

The bass player said, "The band has had a couple of dinners and they've just been great. We're all just excited about the idea of doing something sometime. I can't guarantee it, but I'm optimistic."

His remarks prompted former bandmate Page McConnell to...

Phish To Reunite?

Disbanded rockers Phish have fueled reports they will reunite after bassist Mike Gordon confirmed rumors about a comeback "stemmed from reality."

The four bandmates thrilled fans when they shared the stage for the first time since their 2004 split to accept a Lifetime Achievement Award last month at New York's Jammy Awards. And last month guitarist Trey Anastasio added to rumors of a reunion after telling Rolling Stone magazine, "At this point in time I would give my left nut to play (You Enjoy Myself) five times in a row every day."

Now members of the quartet - including Anastasi...

Bad Celebrity Baby Names

December 6th, 2007 11:33am EST
Brooke Burke & David Charvet
All over the world life-altering baby names are daily latched onto innocent children. This includes the names celebrities choose. It's often a mystery why celebrities pick names destined to cause incredible humiliation for their offspring. But one thing is true: no one named "Jermajesty" has ever won the Nobel Peace Prize.

Much like failed Hollywood marriages or unwatchable sequels, bad celebrity baby names are a sign of the times. While Jacob, Michael, Emily and Emma were the most popular names in 2006, celebrities often feel they are above trends. When defenseless children are bor...
