Is 'American Idol' Using Plants?

January 16th, 2008 1:10pm EST
American Idol
After a little research on the web (and believe me, it didn't take much), Starpulse contributing editor Casey Johnson and I determined that a couple of last night's American Idol "contestants" weren't exactly auditioning as serious contenders for the title of 'American Idol.'

Despite my thinking that the only legitimate moron to appear on the show just to get on TV was the overweight tool who though it would be funny to go in front of judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson dressed in a crappy home-made replica of the legendary (yes, legendary) gold bikini worn by Princess L...

Double Bassist Art Davis, Who Played With Jazz Greats Such As Coltrane, Dies At 73

August 4th, 2007 9:15am EDT
John Coltrane
LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) - Art Davis, the renowned double bassist who played with John Coltrane and other jazz greats, has died. He was 73.

Davis died of a heart attack Sunday at his home in Long Beach, his son Kimaili Davis told the Los Angeles Times for a story in Saturday's editions.

Davis was blacklisted in the 1970s for speaking up about racism in the music industry, then later earned a doctorate in clinical psychology and balanced performance dates with appointments to see patients.

''He was adventurous with his approach to playing music,'' said pianist Nate Morgan, who ...

George W. Bush 'Is An Idiot,' Says Linda Rondstadt

August 14th, 2006 1:52pm EDT
Linda Rondstadt
Linda Ronstadt has launched a blistering attack on President George W. Bush, declaring she is embarrassed to be from the same country as him. The outspoken star was thrown out of a Las Vegas, Nevada, casino in 2004 after praising Michael Moore for his anti-Bush movie Fahrenheit 9/11.

Two years on she hasn't softened her views, echoing those of country music trio The Dixie Chicks. She says, "The Dixie Chicks said they were embarrassed he was from Texas. I'm embarrassed George Bush is from the United States. He's an idiot. He's enormously incompetent on both the domestic and internation...
