Aerosmith Cancel Indonesia Concert Over Security Fears

Rockers Aerosmith have axed an upcoming show in Jakarta, Indonesia, over security fears.

The band announced the cancellation after police arrested two suspected militants who planned to bomb an embassy in the nation's capital city.

Steven Tyler and company were scheduled to perform at the Jakarta Inernational Expo in Kemayoran, and the band released a statement via the website of the event promoter, Ismaya Live.

Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and Joe Perry are heading to the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The duo has been one of rock music's most successful songwriting tandems for the last 40 years, penning numerous classic hits like "Dream On," "Sweet Emotion," and "Walk This Way" along with such cheeky hits as "Dude (Looks Like A Lady)," "Love In An Elevator," and "Big Ten Inch Record."

Tyler and Perry will be inducted as part of the 2013 class, which includes Foreigner's Lou Gramm and Mick Jones.

Tyler is joined in the list of nominees by his Aerosmith bandmate and writing partner Joe Perry, while Lennox's Eurythmics collaborator Dave Stewart is also included, along with Nicks' Fleetwood Mac co-stars Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie.

Blues legend B.B. King and The Kinks' Ray Davies are also among the nominees for the 2013 inductees.

Guitar amp pioneer Jim Marshall has passed away at the age of 88.

The music icon, nicknamed the Father of Loud, is recognized as one of the key pioneers in amplification after he began building amps in the 1960s and founded Marshall Amplification 50 years ago.

His equipment has been used by rock's most iconic stars, including Jimi Hendrix, Joe Perry, Kurt Cobain and Slash.

Aerosmith (Steven Tyler, Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer, Joe Perry and Brad Whitford) appeared at the Grove in Los Angeles yesterday to promote their new "Global Warming" tour.

Singer Tyler made a grand entrance by arriving in a green tricked out trike. Bassist Hamilton was carried in by a Japanese rickshaw.

The band is hitting the road for the first time since Tyler fell from a stage in 2009 for an 18-date tour with Cheap Trick. The three-month trek will kick off in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on June 16. They've also got a new album in the works, which they say will be out within three months.

Aerosmith are to return to the road in America for the first time since frontman Steven Tyler fell from a stage in 2009, for an 18-date tour with veteran rockers Cheap Trick.

The Global Warming Tour dates were announced on Monday and will include stops at the Hollywood Bowl and the Nassau Coliseum in New York.

The three-month trek will kick off in Minneapolis, Minnesota on June 16.

Aerosmith will play their hometown of Boston, Massachusetts on July 17.

The guitarist is putting pen to paper to document his life story in a new autobiography and he started work on the project this week.

The rocker, 59, sustained injuries after his motorcycle was struck by a car at traffic lights in Taunton, Massachusetts.
