Ozzy Osbourne and Iron Maiden will be the frontrunners at this year's third annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards after picking up multiple nominations on Thursday.

Ozzy will battle Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson for Best Vocalist, while the Prince of Darkness' guitarist and drummer will battle Maiden's men for the night's best player prizes.

A Perfect Circle
Rock band A Perfect Circle have returned from a self-imposed five-year hiatus to embark on a U.S. tour this autumn.

The band, led by Tool singer Maynard James Keenan and guitarist Billy Howerdel, announced its hiatus in 2005. Keenan focused on Tool and worked on developing his Arizona wine company, while Howerdel went on to form rock group Ashes Divide.

However, now the pair is partnering up once again, for a five-city tour in Arizona, Washington, Nevada and California. In each city the band will perform one of its three albums in its entirety.

Freese To Quit Nine Inch Nails

Rocker Josh Freese is to quit Nine Inch Nails at Christmas, according to the band's leader Trent Reznor. In a post on the group's website, Reznor insists he and Freese will part the best of friends and he admits he has yet to find a replacement drummer.

Reznor writes, "Josh Freese fans, be sure to check out a show on the upcoming North American leg of the tour, as sadly they will be the last ones he's playing with us. He informed me he's leaving the tour at the end of this year. Yes, we are still dear friends. No, I'm not sure what we are going to do."

Nine Inch Nails Dumps New Drummer

Rockers Nine Inch Nails have fired drummer Alex Carapetis just two months after hiring him. In October, it was announced that Carapetis had stepped in to replace Jerome Dillon on the band's US tour. But he's now been relieved of his duties, and a spokesperson for the band's label is refusing to reveal what prompted his departure, reports MTV News.

Session drummer Josh Freese, known for his work with A Perfect Circle and The Vandals, has returned to the band - he performed with Nine Inch Nails for two gigs back in early October - and will fill in for the foreseeable future.
