Rush, Heart And Donna Summer Among 2013 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Inductees
Finally! Canadian progressive rock gods Rush are heading to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The prolific trio -- bassist/singer Geddy Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson and drummer/lyricist Neil Peart -- formed in 1968 and released their self-titled debut album in 1974. They never broke up, save for a five year hiatus beginning in the late 1990s; and just released their 19th studio album, "Clockwork Angels", earlier this year to rave reviews.

Rush To Be Honored As Living Legends In London
Rockers Rush are to be honored with the Living Legend award at Classic Rock magazine's Marshall Roll Of Honour Awards in November.
The Canadian trio will jet to London to pick up the accolade at the event, which will be hosted by Alice Cooper.
Alter Bridge and Cheap Trick will perform at the show.
Past recipients of the Classic Rock Living Legend award include Iggy Pop, Ozzy Osbourne and Cooper.

Neil Peart's Double Tragedy Nearly Ended Rush
Rush stars Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee felt sure the band was over for good when drummer Neil Peart quit after losing his daughter and wife in the same year. The double tragedies not only led to Peart leaving the group, they devastated his bandmates too.
Lifeson says, "I had no interest in it (music) anymore. I couldn't play guitar. I couldn't even listen to music for a year."
Peart told his bandmates of his will to retire and took off on a soul-searching motorbike journey across America, which he has since chronicled in the book Ghost Rider: Travels on The Healing Road.

Rush founder John Rutsey has succumbed to a lengthy diabetes-related illness and died at his home. He was 55.
The Canadian rocker played drums for the trio until 1974, and quit the band after the release of their self-titled debut album.
Rutsey founded the group with guitarist Alex Lifeson and bassist Geddy Lee in 1968. He was replaced by Neil Peart after exiting the group in 1974 due to illness.
Rutsey's family has confirmed he died last Sunday.

The Police star Sting is the worst lyricist of all time, according to a new poll. The school teacher-turned-rock star was criticized for name-dropping Russian novelist Vladimir Nabokov in the Don't Stand So Close to Me and quoting a Volvo bumper sticker in If You Love Someone Set Them Free.
The singer beat Rush drummer Neil Peart, Creed front man Scott Stapp and Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher to top the Blender magazine poll.
