George Clinton is obstinate notorious pop star Miley Cyrus stole her infamous twerking routine from him.

The 72 year-old funk legend, is a big fan of Cyrus, who ditched her clean-cut image last year by indulging in X-rated stage performances involving the sexy butt-rubbing dance.

The Funkadelic icon loves her headline-grabbing new persona; nevertheless, the veteran musician insists he featured twerking women at his concerts as far back as the 1990s.

Cash-strapped funk icon George Clinton is appealing to fans to help him raise $50,000 to preserve his recording studio in Florida.

The Parliament-Funkadelic frontman, 70, is using online fundraising website IndieGoGo to encourage devotees to contribute to the cause and aid the "restoration and preservation of original recordings, as well as urgent repairs and upgrades to the Parliament-Funkadelic family recording studio".

Funk legend George Clinton has launched legal action against the Black Eyed Peas over allegations they illegally sampled his classic hit "(Not Just) Knee Deep" on the remix to their single "Shut Up."

Clinton's lawyers filed the copyright infringement suit in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on Friday.

In the court papers, the veteran star claims the Black Eyed Peas have cashed in on their 2003 track at his expense, thanks to various remixes released as a result of the chart smash.

Hip-hop legend Dr. Dre has been turning to 1970s electronica pioneers Kraftwerk for inspiration as he completes work on his long-awaited album Detox.

The rap icon is putting the finishing touches on the follow-up to 1999 release 2001, and recently revealed the first single will be a track called Under Pressure featuring Jay-Z.

However, Dre admits he's been listening to a completely different genre of music to help fuel his creativity during the lengthy process.
