Guess Who Is Back On Top Of Billboard 200 This Week?

2/2/2016 10:02am EST
Adele Reclaims No. 1 On Billboard 200 After a Two-Week Break
Two weeks ago, David Bowie’s final album Blackstar would dethrone Adele’s record-breaking 25 after it spent seven consecutive weeks at number one. While Bowie wouldn't retain the top spot the following week, Panic! At The Disco would score its first number one album with Death of a Bachelor. Both weeks, 25 had to settle for runner-up as opposed to “ruling the roost.” Not this week friends – no sir!

After a two-week break – call it a vacation – Adele returns to a familiar, fitting spot at number one. This week marks the eight nonconsecutive weeks in the penthouse for the British powerhouse....

Panic! At The Disco Tops The Billboard 200 For The First Time
After being an active part of the music industry for a decade, Panic! At The Disco finally got over “That Hump” to quote Erykah Badu – scoring a number one album on the Billboard 200. That’s right; Death of A Bachelor earned Panic! At The Disco – specifically sole original member Brendon Urie – it's first career number one album. The numbers were impressive as Panic! At The Disco impacted to the tune of 190,000 units, with 89% of those units being pure sales.

Sure Urie is the only member left, but things seem to be looking up judging by the numbers and hits from the album. If you ask us, w...

'Blackstar' Becomes David Bowie's First No. 1 Album

David Bowie Posthumously Scores Career First No. 1 With 'Blackst
Two unbelievable things have occurred. The first and most unbelievable thing is the fact that legendary rock veteran David Bowie is dead. The second is the fact that Bowie scored his career first no. 1 album with Blackstar. How is it that an accomplished musician like David Bowie had never previously scored a chart-topping album on the Billboard 200? Aforementioned point aside, Blackstar moved 181,000 units, with 96% of those units being pure sales. Robust numbers by all means.

Bowie’s chart topper means that the queen, Adele, has officially been toppled. 25 doesn’t move far from the pe...

Panic! At The Disco's 'Death of a Bachelor' Is Eccentrically Bri
Brendon Urie is eccentric – no ifs, ands or buts about it! Eccentricity is what we love about Urie, aka Panic! At The Disco. As the final member of the eclectic alternative collective, Urie doesn’t miss a beat on Panic’s fifth studio album, Death of a Bachelor. If anything, Death of a Bachelor proves to be the band’s most ambitious effort yet.

Single “Victorious” gives Death of a Bachelor a fierce opening salvo, setting the tone for the entire course. All things unite terrifically: Urie’s left of center lyrics, his monstrously epic pipes, and terrific production work. This is Panic! At ...

Panic! At The Disco Leads Albums To Check Out
2016 began quietly in the music world, with only a handful of new albums of note dropping the first two weeks of the year – Rachel Platten’s Wildfire (New Year’s Day) and David Bowie’s Blackstar (January 8). This week, the heat turns up a little bit more, with Panic! At The Disco leading the charge. It’s still not a ‘vintage’ release week, but there are certainly opportunities to expand the music collection.

1) Panic! At The Disco, Death Of A Bachelor (Fueled by Ramen)

Sometimes, you have to take a stand. Taking a stand isn’t always a popular move, nor is it always personally lucrative. Review: Panic! At The Disco, 'Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die'

10/11/2013 3:15pm EDT
Panic! at the Disco
Panic’s latest effort packs a sizable punch despite its brevity: If there is one thing that has to irk Panic! At The Disco, it’s being in the shadows of another, more popular pop-punk band named Fall Out Boy. Personally, it irks me too, because time and time again, it seems that Panic has separated themselves from the colleagues with their stylistic adventurousness and nonconformity.  Fourth album Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die! doesn’t eschew that eclecticism, this time relying on elements of 80s pop, electronic music, and R&B as major influences.  As captivating as the rest of their d...

The rocker was attempting to climb back onstage at the Pompano Beach gig when he slipped and injured himself.

He added, "My left leg is done for the show, if you don't mind... The show will go on if you'll have us."

How Will We Categorize Our Current Decade of Music?

7/24/2008 8:45am EDT
50 Cent
We all know that the 70s was the decade of classic/arena rock, the 80s was the decade of hair metal/synth pop and the 90s was the decade of grunge/alternative rock. This brings up a question that a lot of music lovers must wonder: how will we categorize our current decade of music?

It's funny how music tends to change every generation. The 70s was the era of classic rock where groups such as Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith and Lynyrd Skynyrd took over the entire music scene. Next up was the 80s, where both hair metal rockers such as Guns 'N Roses, Def Leppard and Bon Jovi reigned, along with ...
