Ozzy OsbourneLouder Than Everything Release Date: 1996 Label: Bondage Records Rating: ![]() |
When Ozzy Osbourne went on solo tours in the '80s and '90s, he offered a combination of solo hits and classics from his years with Black Sabbath. That's exactly what he provides on Louder Than Everything, a bootleg that that was recorded primarily from an Album Network broadcast at the Desert Sky Pavilion in Phoenix, AZ on April 13, 1996. The sound quality is excellent, and the Oz is in good form on solo favorites like "I Don't Know," "Crazy Train" and the controversial "Suicide Solution" as well as Sabbath classics such as "War Pigs," "Sweet Leaf," "Iron Man," "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" and "Paranoid" (which he uses to open the Desert Sky Pavilion show). Here's the thing that makes this two-CD set mildly annoying: the profanity that Osbourne uses quite liberally between songs is bleeped -- and hearing so many bleeps can definitely get on a person's nerves. Of course, the Album Network had to bleep all that profanity because of FCC regulations -- plus, it goes without saying that the Network certainly didn't intend for Bondage Music to turn the broadcast into a bootleg. All things considered, Louder Than Everything is a set that hardcore fans will find enjoyable even though it's less than essential. Alex Henderson, All Music Guide
