13 Songs With ‘Only’ In The Title (Volume 1)
Ah the beauty of ‘only’ songs – those classics that feature one pivotal word within their title. What word is it that is pivotal you ask? Well, that word is what one suspects – ONLY! Think about it, how many songs feature the ubiquitous, inescapable adjective, adverb, or conjunction? The answer is a lot. One list can’t house so many ‘only’ songs. That said the 13-featured songs of ‘Songs With ‘Only’ In The Title (Volume 1),’ is a starting place. After such a wacky, melodramatic intro, here are the ‘only’ songs in all their ‘only’ glory!

1) Sam Smith, “I’m Not The Only One” (In The Lonely...

10 Darkest Musical Personalities

10 Darkest Musical Personalities
No matter how warm and fuzzy a song like Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” makes everyone feel on the inside, not all musicians have the same optimism and ‘good vibes’ of the multifaceted musician. Some find their best inspiration in dark things – blackness, the grotesque, and sometimes the hellish (cue the sound effects now!). The definition of ‘dark’ is broad, and all 10 of the ‘darkest’ musicians that grace this list possess their own style. What they all have in common is, they are known for their intensely dark musical personalities.

1) Marilyn Manson

2015 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Nominations Include Green Day, N

Making the cutoff just before the 25 year mark, both Green Day and Nine Inch Nails were nominated. The debut albums for both artists were in 1989. Green Day's debut EP "1,000 Hours" came out in April 1989, and Nine Inch Nails’ first album "Pretty Hate Machine" was released in October of 1989.

Also in the running for a prestigious spot in the Rock Hall are N.W.A, The Smiths, Lou Reed and Sting, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Kraftwerk, Chic, ...

Popular Songs You Won't Believe Are Actually Covers

Popular Songs You Won't Believe Are Actually Covers
There are some cover songs out there that artists perform so well you forget someone did it first. We bet there’s a least a handful of songs on this list you thought weren't covers.

Dazed and Confused - Led Zeppelin (Jake Holmes)

This song actually has a pretty nasty past. Jimmy Page heard the song performed by Jake Holmes, who was opening for the Yardbirds while Page was a part of the band. The Yardbirds then bought a record of the song and copied it while adding new music for all of their instruments. While mostly reserved for live shows, it was included on a live album – and was the ...

Thoughts On The 56th Annual Grammy Nominations

12/9/2013 8:50pm EST
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
The Grammys are like a musician’s Super Bowl, even if the nominations and victorious artists are flawed.  I won’t lie to you, I complain every year that someone won a Grammy that didn’t deserve it while someone else was snubbed. Just last year, during the 55th Annual Grammys, I lobbied hard for Frank Ocean (looking back, I have reservations now) while Mumford & Sons walked out with the Album of the Year trophy.  The year that Taylor Swift won for Fearless, my girl Beyoncé was on a roll until the coveted Album of the Year award was read.  You get my position though! This year,  I find myself...

Trent Reznor Video Chats With Terminally Ill Fan During Concert

11/21/2013 11:38am EST
Trent Reznor
Last Saturday, Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor reached out to a cancer-stricken fan during a recent performance by video-chatting with him during the concert.

The 48 year-old rocker took the stage in Las Vegas, and made a special call to fan and concert photographer Andrew Youssef, who is battling colon cancer.

Youssef was told by doctors in September that he only had a few months to live and he was too sick to attend the show.

Reznor, who had struck up a friendship with Youssef through Twitter hit the website  just before the concert and wrote a special message to his dedicated fa...

10 Popular Music Songs Penned By Other Artists

The music industry is one business where it is common for music artists to either meet up and share musical talents or acknowledge the song writing skills of other music artists musically.  Check our following ten popular song picks penned by other music artists.

Singer Rihanna’s hit single “Diamonds” owes it’s “Alternative” flavored leanings to singer-songwriter Sia who penned the track for the singer’s Unapologetic studio music release.  Sia, on her part, is also best known for her co-writing and vocal contribution to DJ David Guetta’s “Titanium” hit single.

Top Ten Reasons Outside Lands Music Festival Was Magical

8/13/2013 9:01pm EDT
Paul McCartney
Last weekend the beautiful (yet cold and windy) city of San Francisco hosted the 6th annual Outside Lands music festival with headliners Sir Paul McCartney, Nine Inch Nails and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Here are the top ten reasons why the festival was magical:

1.) Sir Paul McCartney...period.

2.) The Red Hot Chili Peppers proved that they can still rock the house- 'Oldies but Goodies' in our book.

3.) Despite the hundreds of Port-a-Potties, hundreds of people still felt the need to pee out in the open directly behind the port-a-potties. A very hysterical sight.

4.) Lamb Fries at the Outs...

Adrian Belew Drops Out Of NIN

6/7/2013 5:26pm EDT
Adrian Belew
Adrian Belew has quit Nine Inch Nails less than four months after joining the line-up.

In February, the guitarist signed up for Trent Reznor's band and was set to perform summer concerts with the rockers, but he took to his page on Thursday night to announce he is walking away from the group.

The former King Crimson star writes, "Concerning me being part of the 2013 Nine Inch Nails band: it didn't work."

Editors at music website Consequence Of Sound have reported that Belew earlier made a longer statement, which has since been deleted.

It reportedly read, "Hey folks, be...

Budweiser's VP of marketing Paul Chibe explained the whole idea behind the mixed lineup after it was announced via music-streaming website Spotify.

Trent Reznor Recommends Fans To Boycott Album Re-Release

7/15/2011 5:29pm EDT
Trent Reznor
Nine Inch Nails rocker Trent Reznor has urged his fans to boycott a new release of the group's 1989 album because it's a "waste" of money.

Bosses at a Universal Music subsidiary decided to re-release the band's hit record Pretty Hate Machine without any re-mastering to digitally improve the sound quality of the original.

The move has angered the guitarist and he has warned fans to avoid the tricky marketing ploy and save their cash.

Taking to his page, he writes, "NIN fans, don't waste your money on this version of PHM that was just released... a record label bulls**t move...

The band was expected to head back into the studio last year, but no new material surfaced. Now Reznor has assured fans another project is on its way - although he's having to go back to basics.

He says, "We plan to do a record later this year, but some material isn't as relevant to me as when I first wrot...

The music mash-up has been around for a couple years, and thanks to the internet many DIYers are showing off their mash-up expertise publicly. Here's some of our favorite mash-ups. Let us know what songs you think would make for a great mash-up.
