Popular Songs You Won't Believe Are Actually Covers

Popular Songs You Won't Believe Are Actually Covers
There are some cover songs out there that artists perform so well you forget someone did it first. We bet there’s a least a handful of songs on this list you thought weren't covers.

Dazed and Confused - Led Zeppelin (Jake Holmes)

This song actually has a pretty nasty past. Jimmy Page heard the song performed by Jake Holmes, who was opening for the Yardbirds while Page was a part of the band. The Yardbirds then bought a record of the song and copied it while adding new music for all of their instruments. While mostly reserved for live shows, it was included on a live album – and was the ...

Thoughts On The 56th Annual Grammy Nominations

December 9th, 2013 8:50pm EST
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
The Grammys are like a musician’s Super Bowl, even if the nominations and victorious artists are flawed.  I won’t lie to you, I complain every year that someone won a Grammy that didn’t deserve it while someone else was snubbed. Just last year, during the 55th Annual Grammys, I lobbied hard for Frank Ocean (looking back, I have reservations now) while Mumford & Sons walked out with the Album of the Year trophy.  The year that Taylor Swift won for Fearless, my girl Beyoncé was on a roll until the coveted Album of the Year award was read.  You get my position though! This year,  I find myself...

Top Ten Reasons Outside Lands Music Festival Was Magical

August 13th, 2013 9:01pm EDT
Paul McCartney
Last weekend the beautiful (yet cold and windy) city of San Francisco hosted the 6th annual Outside Lands music festival with headliners Sir Paul McCartney, Nine Inch Nails and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Here are the top ten reasons why the festival was magical:

1.) Sir Paul McCartney...period.

2.) The Red Hot Chili Peppers proved that they can still rock the house- 'Oldies but Goodies' in our book.

3.) Despite the hundreds of Port-a-Potties, hundreds of people still felt the need to pee out in the open directly behind the port-a-potties. A very hysterical sight.

4.) Lamb Fries at the Outs...
