Phish, My Morning Jacket, Gov't Mule Play Tributes For Lou Reed

The song may have been in the band's repertoire since Halloween of 1998, but on Sunday night Phish opened their show at Hartford, Connecticut's XL Center with a bittersweet, yet rousing rendition of the Velvet Underground's "Rock & Roll" in tribute to late music legend Lou Reed.

Reed passed away earlier in the day due to complications stemming from a liver transplant he had back in May.

Following the eleven-and-a-half-minute epic, frontman Trey Anastasio asked the crowd for a moment of silence for "one of the greatest artists who's ever lived."

Legendary singer/songwriter Bob Dylan has announced that he's set to hit the road along with Wilco and My Morning Jacket on a summer tour.

The 26-date AmericanaramA festival of Music kicks off in West Palm Beach, Florida, at the Cruzan Amphitheatre on June 26 and wraps August 4 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, Calif.

Rage Against The Machine frontman Zack De La Rocha is planning a series of concerts to protest Arizona's controversial state immigration laws.

Punk veterans NOFX have joined the line-up at the U.S. Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado.

The band, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, will play its album Punk In Drublic in its entirety and in order on August 22. They will be followed onstage by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones.

My Morning Jacket and Black Keys will headline on the August 21 and The Allman Brothers will close the event on August 30.

The convention - a key landmark in Barack Obama's presidential campaign - will take place between August 25 and 28.

Two weeks after Prince was given the headlining slot on Saturday night to boost ticket sales, actor/director Penn has been given a 15-minute slot directly before My Morning Jacket's performance on Sunday evening.

Cult rockers My Morning Jacket will surprise fans at the Lollapalooza festival in August, when they take to the stage with the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra.
