Van Morrison Denies Baby Reports

December 31st, 2009 6:22pm EST
Van Morrison
Van Morrison has denied reports he has become a dad at the age of 64 - blaming internet pranksters for hacking into his website and posting the "falsehoods". The "Brown Eyed Girl" hit-maker's official internet site carried an announcement on Tuesday that a woman named Gigi Lee had given birth to the star's son, George Ivan Morrison III.

But Morrison has spoken out to rebuff the claim, insisting his web page was hacked and the news he has a son is "completely and utterly without foundation".

In a statement, he says: "Once these claims were brought to our attention, they were taken down...

New Thanksgiving Traditions

November 25th, 2008 12:13pm EST
The Last Waltz
It all started with some weirdo religious fanatics making wary peace with local culture to celebrate the harvest and to pray that at least some of them will live through the winter.

The noble dreams of our forefathers live on today and as Americans we honor the shaky bonds of our ancestors with Thanksgiving. We all have our favorite holiday past times be it eating yourself into depression, watching the Lions lose or making sure grandma doesn't say anything offensive about minorities. However, like a well worn pair of jeans, some traditions can wear a hole in the seat. Every so often it's...

Van Morrison To Release 'Keep It Simple,' April 1

March 25th, 2008 8:15pm EDT
Van Morrison
Few singers know as many paths to the heart as Van Morrison. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer has spent most of the past five decades seeking and discovering new inroads to that spiritual core.

By the time he rose to the fore of Britain's nascent blues-rock scene as leader of Them, Morrison had already pulled years in the trenches, singing skiffle, country and rhythm and blues tunes with some of Belfast's cagiest combos. He's journeyed far and wide since, but inevitably, the man Bob Geldof called "the one true genius in Irish music" has invariably come back to the philosophy summed up i...

He curtly told the audience, "We'd like to do the n...
