Kip Moore (born in Tifton, Georgia) is an American country music singer-songwriter. He began playing guitar while attending college, and made his first public performance at a Mellow Mushroom restaurant in Valdosta, Georgia. After college, he moved to Hawaii, where he also took up backpacking and surfing.

Moore moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2004, where songwriter and producer Brett James helped him sign to a publishing deal. He spent four years in Nashville before signing to a record deal with MCA Nashville. Moore released his debut single “Mary Was the Marrying Kind” in early 2011. The song entered the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart at #58. In September 2011 Moore released his second single, “Somethin' 'Bout a Truck,” which became his first Top 40 hit. His debut album, “Drive Me Crazy” was issued in January 2012.

Kip Moore also co-wrote two tracks, “All the Way” and “Let's Fight,” from Thompson Square's self-titled debut album, which was released in February 2011.
