The list of performers who will take the stage at the 86th annual Academy Awards in Hollywood on March 2 has grown - P!nk was just invited to join the festivities.

Producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said in a statement: "We are very excited to welcome Pink to the Oscar stage for the very first time. Veteran entertainer Bette Midler is fielding song requests from fans to help her decide what to sing at the Academy Awards next month (Mar14).

The Beaches actress and Grammy-winning singer will take centre stage at the biggest night in Hollywood for the first time in her almost 50-year career and although Oscars bosses claimed her performance will be "especially moving", it appears Midler has yet to settle on her set list.

Bette Midler is set to perform at the Oscars next month.
The 'Wind Beneath My Wings' hitmaker will take to the stage to sing at the awards show in the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles for the first time on March 2.
It is not yet known what song the 68-year-old star, who was nominated twice for Best Actress in the past, will perform at the star-studded ceremony.

Veteran actress Bette Midler is slated to take on the role of Mae West in a new biopic about the movie legend.

The Beaches actress is attached to star and executive produce the project, which is based on West's 1959 autobiography Goodness Had Nothing to Do With It.

West's book chronicles her rise to stardom as she became one of the highest-grossing, and most controversial, stars of the 1930s.

Midler is producing the movie with Behind The Candelabra filmmaker Jerry Weintraub, while The Exorcist's William Friedkin will direct the project from Broadway star Harvey Fierstein's script.

Bette Midler and Farina played divorced parents in the 1997 romantic comedy "That Old Feeling," and Midler has spoken of her sadness at learning of her colleague's passing.

Veteran entertainer Bette Midler made a dying fan's dream come true by singing to the woman in an emotional phone call.

The actress met Anna Greenberg, who was battling rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer, at a movie premiere last year (12) and was touched to learn of her health battle.

Midler took time out of her busy schedule last month (May13) to ring the 28 year old in hospital, and details of the heartfelt call have now emerged.
