March 16th, 2012 11:15am EDT
Shark Tank
They don't bite...much. A few months after my visit to ABC's Shark Tank, investor 'Sharks' Daymond John and Kevin O'Leary came back to chat with me about the show's ongoing third season.

Tonight's episode (8 PM ET/PT) sees singer Ingrid Michaelson join one entrepreneur in pitching his music software to the high-powered Sharks - Daymond, Kevin, Barbara Corcoran, Robert Herjavec and Mark Cuban - in hopes of securing an investment.

Here's what Daymond and Kevin had to say about being Sharks.

Aside from the obvious, when you could be doing just about anything you want, what keeps Shark Tan...

Top 10 Romantic Songs To Listen To This Valentine's Day
It’s February, and everyone who has to leave their house for any reason knows what that means: Valentine’s Day. It’s on the radio, it’s in the stores, it’s all over. Valentine’s Day serves two purposes: it reminds people to pay special attention to the people they love, and it gives the radio DJs an excuse to play more love songs than usual.

For your consideration, I give you my Top 10 Romantic Songs. Some are overplayed, some are classic, most are beautiful pieces of music. But they’re all about love. And yeah, I like to complain about Valentine’s Day as much as the next person, but ...

October 7th, 2008 6:30pm EDT
Meiko
It's been a busy couple of weeks for MySpace/DGC recording artist Meiko: first she was featured alongside Jack Johnson and Sara Bareilles in a USA Today cover story about the "new wave of troubadours." Then she was given a spotlight of her own on the cover of the Los Angeles Times Calendar section. That was followed by stunning performances of lead single "Boys With Girlfriends" on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and the season premiere of "The Bonnie Hunt Show." Now she's featured in a special nationwide promotion with iTunes and Starbucks, in which she's one of a select group of artists h...

Greg Laswell's 'Three Flights From Alto Nido' To Be Released July 8

June 27th, 2008 6:30am EDT
Greg Laswell
Renaissance Man Greg Laswell finds himself released from heartache with Three Flights From Alto Nido, his sophomore full-length album on Vanguard Records, to be released July 8th. Three Flights From Alto Nido is the enigmatically, yet aptly titled third volume of his trilogy of heartbreak and redemption.

In 2006, Laswell's Through Toledo was an intimate account of a devastating experience in his life. How The Day Sounds, a six song EP released earlier this year, served as a bridge toward self-realization while vividly capturing the sense of healing and moving on. Three Flights From...

Joshua Radin will return to the road this summer starting July 15, for a six-week headlining tour, with Vanessa Carlton as support, to preview new material from his anticipated forthcoming sophomore release on Columbia Records.

Radin’s debut, We Were Here, which came out in 2006 received a four-star review from Rolling Stone, who hailed the album as “understated, poignant and refreshingly frank.”

October 17th, 2007 11:52am EDT
Colbie Caillat
Bolstered by the YouTube-ification of the recording industry, the next generation of American Idols is taking their pop smarts online... and on Grey's Anatomy.

If you watched McDreamy on an episode of "Grey's Anatomy," you know it's there. Some faceless singer's du jour single wedged in a moment of emotional tension. As Meredith dabs the tears from her cheek, the swelling crescendo ballad swells around her, prompting viewers to ask, who is that singer?

As radio continues to kneel over slowly, upstarts such as "Grey's Anatomy" and celebrity bloggers are picking up the slack, showc...
