Ingrid Ellen Michaelson (born December 8, 1979) is a New York-based indie-pop singer-songwriter.

She self-released her debut album, “Slow the Rain,” in 2005. Her second album, 2006’s “Girls and Boys” was also self-released. A few songs off the album have been featured in the television series “Grey's Anatomy.” Record label Cabin 24 re-released the album in 2007. It peaked at #63 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. The album’s single, “The Way I Am,” peaked at #37 Billboard Hot 100 and has been certified platinum by the RIAA.

Released in 2008, “Be OK,” her third studio album, debuted at #35 on the Billboard 200 while also reaching #2 on the Independent Albums chart. The album consisted of previously unreleased music, live recordings and covers songs. A portion of the proceeds from the album's sales will be donated to Stand Up to Cancer.

Her album, “Everybody,” was released in 2009 and peaked at #18 on the Billboard 200. The single “Maybe” reached #14 on the Billboard Adult Pop Songs chart.
