Metallica's upcoming movie will be released next fall. The band's upcoming 3D film, "Metallica Through The Never" will hit IMAX theaters first (Sept. 27) before being released in traditional theaters.
The film centers on a crew member (Dane DeHaan), who "is sent out on a mission during Metallica's roaring live set in front of a sold-out arena." The film follows two story lines, DeHaan's scripted narrative along with the band's concert, which intertwine.

Metallica have regained control of their impressive back catalogue after striking a deal with bosses at Warner Music Group.
The Nothing Else Matters hit-makers renegotiated their contract with the record label so the band could own all its tunes and long-form videos as of Friday.

Metallica fans will be given the chance to see the band for just $5 at a concert which will be filmed for an upcoming 3D movie.
The Enter Sandman hit-makers have been filming a number of shows recently to provide footage for the project, and tickets for their upcoming performance in Vancouver, Canada on Monday will be given away for a fraction of the usual price to fans who want to get involved.
The show at the city's Rogers Arena will feature numerous breaks to allow the production crew time to set up cameras and the money raised will go to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.

The Orion Music + More event will be staged at Bader Field in New Jersey on June 23rd - 24th and the band will headline.

Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax are teaming up again for one U.S. Big Four date on the site of the Coachella Festival.
The heavy metal groups will come together on April 23 for an outdoor supergig at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
The four acts first banded together last year for seven acclaimed shows across Europe.

Metallica's "Master Of Puppets" has topped a new list of heavy metal albums. The group's 1986 release beat Iron Maiden's "Number of the Beast" and "Appetite For Destruction" by Guns N' Roses on the joint MusicRadar.com and Metal Hammer magazine poll.
Ironically, the results have been released on International Noise Awareness Day.
