Rocker Duff Mckagan returned to the stage with Axl Rose on Sunday night (06Apr14) for a Guns N' Roses gig in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Filling in for Tommy Stinson, who is touring with his reunited group The Replacements, the bassist played the first of five shows with the band at Estadio Ferrocarril Oeste.

Introducing his old bandmate to the crowd, Rose said, "Our regular bass player, Mr. Tommy Stinson, is doing a show at Coachella with The Replacements, so we had to try to find a new guy. He's hanging in there. Please give a hearty welcome to the new guy, Mr. Duff McKagan."

Rocker Tommy Stinson has confirmed reports suggesting Duff Mckagan will rejoin Guns N' Roses for shows in South America as his replacement.

McKagan hinted at a reunion with singer Axl Rose in a tweet on Monday (31Mar14), but many thought it was just an early April Fools' Day (01Apr) prank.

Now, Guns N' Roses' current bassist has revealed the Velvet Revolver star really will be back onstage with his former frontman for five shows while Stinson takes time off to tour with his reunited band The Replacements.

The rocker has written to officials at the Ohio museum to announce he will not be attending Saturday's gala.

In a letter, obtained by the Los Angeles Times newspaper on Wednesday, Rose states, "I respectfully decline my induction as a member of Guns N' Roses to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I strongly request that I not be inducted in absentia and please know that no one is authorized nor may anyone be permitted to accept any induction for me or speak on my behalf.

Duff McKagan is to rejoin his former band Guns N' Roses on tour with his group Loaded.

The bassist, who quit the legendary rock group in 1997, will go back on the road with Guns N' Roses and open for them at two shows with Duff McKagan's Loaded, the band he formed following his departure.

Loaded will appear with Guns N' Roses at the band's concerts in Seattle, Washington on 16 December and in Vancouver, Canada on December 17th..

Former Guns N' Roses rocker Duff McKagan has replaced Eric Avery in the reunited Jane's Addiction.

Avery co-founded the band in the mid-1980s and rejoined frontman Perry Farrell for a 2008 reunion.

He announced his plans to quit via a Twitter.com post on Monday, stating, "With equal parts regret and relief, the Jane's Addiction experiment is at an end."
