Mark McGrath Energizes Season 2 Of TruTV's 'Killer Karaoke'
How do you make Killer Karaoke more awesome? You hire Mark McGrath to host it. The frontman of Sugar Ray and effortlessly awesome TV personality is taking over the reins for season two, and spoke to BFTV recently about coming aboard the insane game show. Why on Earth would he subject himself to this madness?

"I ask myself that every day," he laughed. "It's funny. I was on the road last year with Sugar Ray, and I got a call from my buddy Tony Yates. He's an executive producer on this show and I worked with him on Don't Forget The Lyrics. He provides such a great set, he's such a good guy. H...

May 23rd, 2011 8:54pm EDT
THE CELEBRITY APPRENTICE
We start with Donald Trump bombastically proclaiming this season as, of course, the best season ever, thanks to him. Cue the unfolding of a red carpet for the Donald to strut along. Two poor fellows ran before him, unrolling a seemingly endless red carpet until it abruptly runs out, just before the entrance. As they fell to the ground, he tells them …. wait for it! … “You’re Fired.” Oh, that Donald …

We’re down to the Final Two – country star John Rich, and Academy Award winning actress, Marlee Matlin. When we left the duo last week, they were both enmeshed in the creation and production o...

Marlee Matlin
Tonight, NBC's latest edition of The Celebrity Apprentice comes to a close, with Oscar winner Marlee Matlin and country music star John Rich going head-to-head for the title and even more money for their respective charities. Before their showdown, both Marlee and John checked in with me to chat about their experiences on the show. They may be the two most gracious opponents I've ever interviewed.

(If you missed it earlier, you can also check out my earlier interview with fellow Celebrity Apprentice contestant Hope Dworaczyk.)

You've been tough competitors all season long. What do you...

'Celebrity Apprentice's' NeNe Is 'A Big Bully' - April 10 Recap

April 11th, 2011 11:55am EDT
The Celebrity Apprentice
This week: Pirates me Maties! Hope doesn’t show her biggest assets, and paranoia runs deep for LaToya. Oh yeah, and Busey’s STILL here.

Week 5 and I am now having recurring nightmares of Donald Trump’s weird lip movements. Last week, the teams made ‘art’, and sold it for record amounts. Meat Loaf spectacularly lost his temper on Gary Busey for no real reason, and Richard Hatch got the boot, despite the entire team wanting Busey gone. We can only go up from here, right?

Five celebrities now remain per team. LaToya Jackson, realizing that her team think her ineffective and weak, is determin...

Meat Loaf Is A Bat Out Of Hell
This week: Meat Loaf makes a meal of himself in front of the viewing audience, LaToya milks Michael’s fame, and Marlee shows the teams how to bring in the money.

We return to the aftermath of Dionne Warwick’s leaving last week, as the two teams gather. The Men (BackBone) are ecstatic, celebrating their third win in a row, but the Women (ASAP) are in tatters, with NeNe Leakes weeping over Dionne’s rudeness, Star comforting NeNe (“She gone, she gone.”,) and LaToya Jackson telling Lil Jon that she is being set up for a fall. “I know I’m dealing with sneaky, cunning girls, and I’m not used to ...

In which I learn very little about video phones, Jose Canseco ‘feels pretty’, and Dionne Warwick learns that The Boss cannot be faked out, no matter how much you need your beauty sleep.

This week’s episode began with several of the Backbone (Men’s) team admitting to Gary Busey and each other that their previous week’s win was due to the group effort, and that they needed to present a strong, united front to the A.S.A.P. (Women’s) team, in order to keep winning. Busey tearfully presented two $20,000 checks to a representative of his charity, The Centre for Head Injury Services, explaining...

'The Celebrity Apprentice' Teams Are 'Unhappy Campers'
Week Three of The Celebrity Apprentice brings with it the big question that audiences are flooding the Internet to ask: will the Donald continue to encourage and reward the bullies of the teams? Weeks One and Two quite clearly showed that Richard Hatch, Star Jones, and even dowager Dionne Warwick, are using the series to pump up their own sadly deflated careers, instead of putting the charities, for which they are nominally playing, to the forefront.

But this week, Richard, Star and Dionne flew way under the radar. The challenge: create an outdoor camping experience – “Camping in the 21st ...

'Celebrity Apprentice' Recap: The Women's Alliance Falters (Duh)

Celebrity Apprentice
Plato's "Allegory of the Cave" challenges what we define as reality. To a man chained in a dark cave for all of his life, reality is darkness - it is not until he is freed that his perception of reality is changed. Now, imagine that instead of darkness, this prisoner was forced to watch women on reality TV.

Okay, so maybe I'm reaching, but the fact remains that women in reality television are generally presented as backstabbers that cannot get along. These women also jump at the chance to switch over to the men's team, if the opportunity presents itself. "Finally, I don't have to deal with...

Donald Trump
Real estate mogul-turned-reality TV star Donald Trump turned down the opportunity to include Lindsay Lohan as a contestant on the new Celebrity Apprentice, because it's "not the right time" for the troubled actress.

The Mean Girls star is eager to get back to work and had been in talks with Trump to rebuild her image and feature as part of the line up for the upcoming season of Celebrity Apprentice, which kicks off in March.
