Alice Cooper To Ring In 2012 With Weird Al & Michael McDonald In Hawaii

December 31st, 2011 5:30pm EST
Alice Cooper
Alice Cooper will ring in 2012 in Hawaii with the oddest band of the year - he'll be joined onstage by 'Weird Al' Yankovic and Michael McDonald as part of a charity show.

According to The Maui News, Cooper and his band will perform at the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa on New Year's Eve - and Yankovic and former Doobie Brothers star McDonald will be among the guests.

Funnyman Tom Arnold will reportedly host the odd concert, which will benefit Maui charities.

It will be the second year the "School's Out" rocker Cooper has ushered in the New Year in Hawaii - last year, he performed the...

'American Idol' Mega Diary - A Blow By Blow Of Last Night's Event

May 21st, 2009 8:37am EDT
American Idol
Two hours, wall-to-wall performances, and the "American Idol" result all in one place? Sounds like the perfect opportunity for a mega diary.

8:00 - Wow, the graphics on the opening with the contestants' name look like they were the group final for a high school A/V class. It never ceases to be amazing how bad the graphics can look on something so prominent.

8:01 - Whose idea was it to dress them both in head-to-toe white? What is this? A Mormon baptism?

8:02 - Joely Fisher with baby: "Hey America, did you know "'Til Death" just got renewed again? Muahahahahaha."

8:0...

'American Idol' Banter: Handicapping The Top 3

May 8th, 2009 10:19am EDT
American Idol
For those of you who remember my infamous predictions from the Top 13, I beg your forgiveness. For those of you who don't remember or didn't bother reading, let's just move on. On the bright side, at least I had Adam Lambert in the Top 3!

This time around, I'd like to do it differently. Instead of simply picking who I think will finish first, second, and third, I'm going to list five reasons why each of the remaining three contestants can walk away as the next "American Idol." Yeah, that's right, I'm implying that Adam isn't a lock, regardless of whom he faces in the finals.

If he...

30 Rock: 'Valentine's Day Love Massacre...'

February 13th, 2009 8:51am EST
30 Rock
Thursday night is one for the Dr. Drew's of the world, it seems; not only does Mr. Pinsky himself own VH1 with "Sober House" but now Jon Hamm's "30 Rock" character has been bumped up to recurring.

Picking up after last week's surprising turn of events, he and Liz are in the lobby of their building, trying to come up with a time that is good for the both of them to have their first date. His life is complicated-- with his medical practice and a sick mother-- and she has "a stupid show" to do on Friday, so she suggest Saturday night. It might be the logical thing for most singles, excep...

Chaka Khan: 'Funk This' In Stores September 25

July 31st, 2007 6:00pm EDT
Chaka Khan
Say the name "Chaka" and most folks in the know instantly think of a woman who has made an indelible and lasting impression on the music scene of the past three decades. First, as the lead singer of the massively successful R&B, funk and pop band Rufus, then as a solo artist in her own right who has influenced an entire generation of female vocalists (think Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu, Ledisi, Maysa among others). Like Aretha, like Joni, like Tina, a first name will do. For there's only one Chaka, woman of fire, possessed of a powerhouse, unforgettably distinctive trademark vocal style who ...
