Matchbox Twenty is an American pop rock band, formed in Orlando, Florida, in 1995. The group currently comprises Rob Thomas (lead vocals, piano), Paul Doucette (drums, backing vocals), Kyle Cook (lead guitar, backing vocals) and Brian Yale (bass guitar). Matchbox Twenty released their debut album, “Yourself or Someone Like You,” in 1996. The album received very little media coverage, while the first single, “Long Day,” had some success on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. The second single, “Push,” received much larger airplay in the U.S., as well as charting at #38 on the United Kingdom Singles chart. This saw album sales slowly climb in the U.S. With the success ...
