D'Angelo Announces First Live Concert In 10 Years

Reclusive soul star D'Angelo is set to return to the stage for the first time in a decade to perform at the 2012 Essence Music Festival.

The Brown Sugar singer will make his live comeback on the first night of the New Orleans, Louisiana event, which takes place in early July.

D'Angelo has not released an album since 2000's hit Voodoo, but reports suggest he's working on new material and is ready to make his chart return after a troubled few years away from the spotlight.

Taraji P. Henson and singer/actress Tatyana Ali were among the honorees at Saturday night's sixth annual Black Girls Rock Awards.

Henson picked up the "Star Power Award" while Ali was named the "Young, Gifted & Black Award" recipient.

The New York City party, which was hosted by Diana Ross' daughter Tracee and Regina King, featured performances by Melanie Fiona, Estelle, Mary Mary, Mary J. Blige, Jill Scott and Erykah Badu.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs received a moving tribute from fellow hip-hop star Dr. Dre at the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards in Los Angeles on Friday night.

The rap mogul was the toast of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers' (ASCAP) annual gala and was handed the coveted Founders Award in recognition of his contribution to the music industry.

Pop sensation Taylor Swift stole the show at the American Music Awards on Sunday night, scooping five AMAs.

Swift won the coveted Artist of the Year award and was also named Favorite Pop/Rock Female, Favorite Country Female and Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist. Her album Fearless was also named Favorite Country Music Album.

The singer stayed up late to continue her recent winning streak, collecting the prizes via a satellite link from London, after rehearsing for a forthcoming show there.
