Manfred Mann was a rhythm and blues band with jazz undertones and a touch of the distinctive “British Beat” sound. The band rose to fame in the 1960s and found success in the U.S. at the height of the “British Invasion.” The band got their start in London, England as “The Mann-Hugg Blues Brothers,” and consisted of keyboard player Manfred Mann and drummer Mike Hugg. The duo connected over their love of jazz around the time of the 'blues boom' that was sweeping London's night clubs at the time. The duo recruited Mike Vickers on guitar, alto saxophone, and flute; Dave Richmond on bass; and Paul Jones on lead vocals and harmonica. The band got their start playing gigs around London ...
