Machine Head Fire Co-Founder Adam Duce

Rockers Machine Head have fired their co-founder and lead bassist Adam Duce.

The group made the difficult decision earlier this month, with guitarist and fellow co-founder Robb Flynn announcing the news in a post on his official blog.

He writes, "2-11-13. That is the date we fired Adam Duce. That is the day that I had to tell Adam that after 21 years of being in a band together, I just couldn't take it anymore. That is the day I said, 'My hope is that this can be amicable.' The words sounded like someone else had spoken them.

Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich is secretly plotting a heavy rock super-tour, which will include his band, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax. Slayer guitarist Kerry King has let it slip that negotiations have started during an interview with Britain's Metal Hammer magazine.

Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax toured with Alice In Chains on the Clash Of The Titans tour in 1991, while Metallica and Megadeth played a one-off show in Britain in 1993 - but the four acts have never performed on the same bill.

Machine Head Rocker Collapses On Stage

Machine Head rocker Phil Demmel ended the band's concert in Virginia on Sunday in dramatic fashion - he collapsed from dehydration while performing the penultimate song.

The guitarist complained about feeling lightheaded moments before passing out on stage at the Nissan Theater in Bristow. Drummer Dave McClain reveals, "That was a scary moment for all of us. Seeing your friend collapse like that is something that nobody wants to experience. He's doing much better now and taking it easy on the bus."

Welsh rock band Lostprophets are celebrating after they were named Best British Band at the Kerrang! Awards on Thursday night. The rockers have now won the award two years in a row after beating Muse, Enter Shikari, Biffy Clyro and Funeral For A Friend to the title.

Elsewhere at the London award ceremony, Machine Head's The Blackening claimed Best Album honors, actor Jared Leto's group 30 Seconds To Mars won Best Single for "The Kill," and My Chemical Romance scooped up the Best International Band award.

Machine Head were the big winners at last night's Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards in London, claiming two major honors and performing the night's live highlight. The California rockers claimed the Best Album award for the critically-acclaimed Blackening and front man Robb Flynn picked up the night's Golden God honor.

Lamb of God were the night's big losers - they only picked up one award, despite getting nominated for five.

Rock band Machine Head decided to write songs about death for their upcoming album after reading a letter written by a soldier in Iraq. Frontman Robert Flynn was stunned by the power behind the dying man's words, which put the blame for his predicament firmly on President George W. Bush.
