2013 Album Playlist: Favorites, Least Favorites, and Honorable Mentions - Part 3

Few 16-year olds draw buzz that transcends their ‘demographic’.  Basically, the teen star is supposed to appeal to a teen fan base, right? Well that’s typically how it works, but New Zealand  singer/songwriter Lorde seems to have a better grasp of the ‘artistry’ thing.  Basically, Ella Yelich O’Connor is thinking more towards her future as opposed to playing it safe and assimilating to expectations.  Rather than deliver a less meaningful teen-pop album,  she embraces being a serious singer/songwriter.  The benefit of this is a highly anticipated debut album, led by hit single “Royals”.


Lorde: Taylor Swift Is 'Unattainable,' Not Good For Young Girls

Lorde has blasted fellow musician Taylor Swift for her image, calling it too perfect to be healthy for young girls.

In an interview with Metro magazine, she said, "Taylor Swift is so flawless, and so unattainable, and I don’t think it’s breeding anything good in young girls. 'I'm never going to be like Taylor Swift, why can't I be as pretty as Lorde?' That’s f--king bulls--t."
