Backstreet Boys Land A Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame

The Backstreet Boys have been immortalized in Hollywood, landing the 2,485th star on the Walk of Fame.

The 90s boy band unveiled their plaque on Hollywood Blvd. Monday afternoon -- which was declared "Backstreet Boys Day" in Hollywood -- cheered on by a huge crowd of screaming fans.

Singers Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, AJ Mclean and Kevin Richardson were all on hand to mark their 20th anniversary.

"I love you guys. And aside from my wedding day and the birth of my daughter, this is hands-down the best day of my life," McLean told the crowd, according to E! News.

A.J. McLean To Leave Rehab Next Week?

Backstreet Boys star A.J. McLean is "doing very well" in rehab and he's scheduled to be released in a week's time, according to his bandmate Brian Littrell.

The 33-year-old singer has battled substance abuse issues for many years and after two stints in clinics in the early 2000s, he sought help again earlier this month.

McLean enrolled in a program "for personal reasons" and his pal Littrell has revealed the pop star is recovering well and has just a week of treatment left.

The Backstreet Boys have parted ways with their longtime record label after 16 years on the roster.

The boy band signed to Jive Records in 1994 and released seven albums through the label over the years. They have now announced their departure from Jive in a post on their official website, titled "Freedom," which dismisses rumors they were dumped from the books because of falling album sales.

The post reads, "So the news is out! The Backstreet Boys are no longer signed to long time record label Jive Records. The amicable split is very exciting for the group. "

August 6, 2007 - Los Angeles, CA – Jive Records recording artists the Backstreet Boys will debut their new single "Inconsolable" on Z-100, New York's Hit Music Station, this evening at 6:00 PM ET during the Romeo on the Radio Show. "Inconsolable" is the first single from the group's forthcoming album slated for release on October 30.
