Lit Drummer Loses Cancer Battle At 39

Lit drummer Allen Shellenberger has lost his battle with brain cancer at the age of 39. The rocker was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in May 2008. He was initially treated at the Cedars-Sinai Maxine Dunitz Neurosurgical Institute in Los Angeles, where he underwent radiation and chemotherapy treatments.

After the diagnosis, which prompted Lit to scrap a tour with Kiss, bandmate Jeremy Popoff stated, "Allen's young and healthy and, if anyone has a chance to beat this, it's him."

Lit Drummer Diagnosed With Brain Tumor

Lit drummer Allen Shellenberger has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. The shocking news has prompted the rock act to scrap a series of European dates with Kiss. Ironically, the 38 year old's tumor, a malignant glioma, is exactly the same kind that Senator Edward Kennedy has been diagnosed with and is battling.

Shellenberger is being treated at the Cedars-Sinai Maxine Dunitz Neurosurgical Institute in Los Angeles, where he is pursuing radiation and chemotherapy treatments.

Coming soon to a TV near you will be the weekly 30-minute metal program, 'Rocknation.'
