Movie star Jon Voight is still sore about the day John Lennon snubbed a dinner meeting with him - because he never got another chance to meet the Beatle.

The actor had become an overnight success thanks to the film Midnight Cowboy and he was walking down London's King's Road when a fan told him Lennon was dining nearby - and he decided it was time for him to meet the singer.

He recalls, "I went to the door of the restaurant and I asked one of the maitre d's... 'I don't wanna bother John, but could you tell him Jon Voight, the actor..., is out here (and) would love to come in and say hell...

Alice Cooper was so scared of partying with hell raising rocker Keith Moon he hid away at a secret location whenever the drummer was in the same city.

Cooper was part of a gang of musicians, including The Who drummer Moon, John Lennon, and Monkees star Micky Dolenz, who gained a reputation for their alcohol-fuelled antics in Los Angeles in the 1970s.

Cooper admits that although he enjoying partying hard, Moon was so outrageous he would try to avoid him whenever the British star was in L.A.

John Lennon's letters are to be published after his widow Yoko Ono agreed to hand them over to a British book company for a reported $500,000-plus.

Publishers at Orion Books in London now own the intellectual property rights and they plan to release the tragic Beatle's musings next year.

Alan Samson of Orion Books says, "For the most part they have never been seen before... They're full of wonderful drawings. They are funny, sad and very human letters."

John Lennon's 1965 Ferrari is set to fetch upwards of $150,000 when it goes under the hammer at an upcoming Paris, France, auction.

The tragic Beatles star reportedly bought the sports car shortly after passing his driving test in 1965.

It is expected to fetch between $155,000 and $220,000 when it's sold via British auction firm Bonhams on February 5.

Lennon only owned the Coupe for a few months before trading it in for a Rolls-Royce, but the sporty Ferrari made its mark in pop culture history - as the singer's first car.

John Lennon's application for U.S. residency has been banned from auction by officials at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
