k.d. lang heading to Broadway

Singer K.D. Lang is set to make her Broadway debut in the stage musical After Midnight.

The Grammy Award winner will take over from former American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino in the production, which celebrates jazz star Duke Ellington's stint at the famous Cotton Club venue in New York City.

Lang's performances will kick off at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on 11 February (14) and wrap on 9 March (14).

k.d. lang's Domestic Partnership Dissolved

k.d. lang is officially single again after her domestic partnership was legally dissolved.

The singer met Jamie Price in 2003 and they went on to file papers to make their domestic set-up official in California, giving the pair rights over each other's properties and allowing them to make healthcare decisions for each other.

After they split, Lang took action to have the partnership dissolved earlier this year - and the judgment was officially entered last week, according to TMZ.com.

Both women have waived partner support and have agreed to a clean division of property.

Musician k.d. Lang has launched legal action to dissolve her domestic partnership with longtime girlfriend Jamie Price.

The pair met in 2003 through a Buddhist teacher and went on to file papers to make their domestic set-up official in California, giving the pair rights over each other's properties and allowing them to make healthcare decisions for each other.

However, the country star has recently moved to dissolve the domestic partnership, according to TMZ.com.

The pair had not commented on the split as WENN went to press.

Celine Dion skipped the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in her native Canada because she thought she'd be too pregnant to perform.

Dion's absence raised questions because many fans expected her to be part of the spectacular in Vancouver on Friday. Instead, Sarah McLachlan, Nelly Furtado, Bryan Adams and k.d. Lang took top billing.

Dion's representative has since cleared up the confusion, explaining that the singer was forced to pull out of a planned performance when she got pregnant last year. The singer suffered a miscarriage just weeks after confirming the baby news.

Canada's brightest stars including Bryan Adams, Nelly Furtado, k.d. Lang and Joni Mitchell teamed up to help launch the Winter Olympics in the country on Friday, putting on a stellar show at the opening ceremony.

The games kicked off with a spectacular show in Vancouver and the ceremony brought together the nation's best-loved musicians to perform at the BC Place stadium.

Singer K.D. Lang has denied she once conducted a sexual relationship with pop superstar Madonna.

Lesbian Lang and Madonna hit the headlines in the 1990s over claims they had enjoyed a brief fling.

But Lang has slammed rumors of a relationship with the Material Girl - insisting their only link was a shared spokesperson.

She says, "She (Madonna) never came on to me; there was a lot of publicity because we had the same publicist.

"I don't think Madonna ever really liked me, to be honest. We're very different people."
