Lady Antebellum star Hillary Scott hit all the right notes at Monday night's SESAC Nashville Music Awards in Tennessee after landing her second successive Songwriter of the Year trophy.

The Need You Now singer was also honored for co-writing four of the year's most performed songs and her publishing company, Hillary Dawn Songs, shared the Publisher of the Year prize with EMI Foray Music.

Reigning "American Idol" champion Scotty McCreery has made chart history by becoming the first country artist to debut an album at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.

Having just turned 18, he's also the youngest male artist to enter the countdown at the top with a debut, beating Omarion - who charted with O in 2005 - by two years.

McCreery's new album "Clear as Day" has opened with 197,000 sales, making him the first "American Idol" winner since 2003 to hit number one with their first release.

Country trio Lady Antebellum are back at the top of the album charts with the biggest opening week sales for a group this year.

The band's "Own the Night" has debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 347,000 sales.

Only three country groups have scored chart-toppers - Lady Antebellum, the Dixie Chicks and Rascal Flatts.

Adele's "21" has stayed put at two on the new chart, while Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter IV" falls from the top spot to number three.

Country singer Brantley Gilbert's "Halfway to Heaven" and Staind's eponymous new album round out the new top five.

Lady Antebellum star Hillary Scott is facing the tough task of planning her 2012 wedding on the go - because she's on tour for the rest of the year.

The country singer became engaged to drummer Chris Tyrrell in July after a year of dating, although they initially met in 2005.

Janet Jackson and country trio Lady Antebellum have relocated their upcoming Indiana State Fair shows following Saturday's stage collapse disaster.

Five people were killed when storms brought the massive structure and lighting rig crashing down before Saturday's Sugarland set - and 45 other music fans were left injured.

Lady Antebellum were forced to postpone a concert in Ohio on Friday after bandmate Hillary Scott's grandmother passed away.

The country music group were set to take the stage in Toledo, but cancelled their plans hours before the show to allow Scott time to mourn.

A post on the band's website reads, "Due to the death of Hillary Scott's grandmother, Lady Antebellum has postponed their show at the Zoo Amphitheater in Toledo, OH until Wednesday, August 10. All tickets will be honored for that date."

Eminem's "Recovery" has been officially named the top-selling album of 2010.

The comeback release sold 3.42 million copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan, giving the rapper his second top-seller - "The Eminem Show" was the biggest hit in 2002.

No other artist has claimed two best-selling years since SoundScan began tracking music sales in 1991.

"Recovery" is the biggest-selling album-of-a-year since 2007, when Josh Groban's festive-flavoured "Noel" shifted 3.70 million copies.
