Lady Antebellum cancel concert due to floods

Country music group Lady Antebellum were forced to cancel a concert on Saturday (12Apr14) due to flooding in Birmingham, Alabama.

The Need You Now hitmakers were set to play at the Oak Mountain Amphitheatre, however, the venue was left severely damaged after the city was hit by severe storms.

The singers took to Twitter.com to express their regret for cancelling the show, writing, "Hate to not be playing Birmingham today but pray y'all stay safe and hope the flood recovery goes smoothly."

The nominations for the 49th annual Academy Of Country Music Awards were announced on Wednesday during an online video event that featured a host of stars including Erin Andrews, 2 Broke Girls star Beth Behrs, Duck Dynasty's Willie & Korie Robertson and Katy Perry, among numerous others.

The nominees were announced through a series of posts to the ACM Awards' Facebook and Twitter pages. Last year's Female Vocalist of the Year Miranda Lambert and Tim McGraw lead the nominees with seven each.

Country duo Florida Georgia Line have sailed into the record books with their 2013 smash-hit Cruise.

The track has become the top selling country digital song of all time, according to U.S. chart compilers Nielsen SoundScan, with 6.32 million downloads tracked.

It passes Lady Antebellum's Need You Now, which has been downloaded 6.27 million times.

Country act Florida Georgia Line have set a new record on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart in America for the longest run at number one.

Just hours before news of the royal baby's birth made headlines around the world, the Need You Now singer welcomed little Eisele Kaye Tyrrell to the world in Nashville, Tennessee.

Lady Antebellum star Hillary Scott beat the Duchess Of Cambridge to motherhood. Both women went into labor on Monday, and the singer's little lady popped out before Britain's new prince.

Scott gave birth to daughter Eisele Kaye Tyrrell in Nashville, Tennessee.

The newborn's name is a combination of her grandmothers' maiden and middle names.

Proud dad Chris Tyrrell tells People.com his baby daughter is "incredibly gorgeous".

The drummer wed Scott in January, 2012, and she announced the pregnancy in December.

Country music stars Lady Antebellum have returned to the top of the U.S. album charts with their new release Golden.

It's the Need You Now hitmakers' third number one on the Billboard 200 chart.

The trio beat the soundtrack to The Great Gatsby to the top spot. That album debuts at two with first-week sales of 137,000, as the film opens the Cannes Film Festival in France.

Lady Antebellum star Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley used to draw straws to find out who would be sleeping with bandmate Hillary Scott.

It's not what it seems - the trio was so poor starting out that the singers all had to share the same hotel room.

Lady Antebellum star Hillary Scott is pregnant. On Friday the singer and her husband Chris Tyrrell announced they will become parents in 2013, a month before their first wedding anniversary.

The 26-year-old mom-to-be wrote in a statement: "Chris & I are excited to announce that our Christmas gift has arrived a little early this year! We are having a BABY! We feel so blessed!!!"

Tyrrell is a member of country band Love and Theft, and he isn't the only member of the group with 2013 daddy dreams - frontman Eric Gunderson and his wife Emily are expecting a boy in May.

Country music stars Lady Antebellum will perform a special gig for students in Indiana whose high school was wrecked by a tornado earlier this month.

The group recently launched a competition offering a concert at a school prom, and they chose Henryville High School as the winner after hearing the teens' "story, resilience and unity following devastating tornadoes."

The school was severely damaged when powerful storms ripped through the region, killing 13 people, and classes will take place at another site when term resumes on April 2nd.
