James Murphy Files Lawsuit Against Record Label Co-Founder

Former LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy has filed a lawsuit against the co-founder of his record label, British music producer Tim Goldsworthy.

Murphy, who launched DFA Records with Goldsworthy in 2001, claims the DJ owes an outstanding amount of money. He also accuses his former partner of improperly using the company credit card and making unauthorized withdrawals from bank accounts.

On Friday, Murphy filed legal papers at the Manhattan Civil Supreme Court in New York seeking punitive damages, the cost of his attorney fees, and $93,899 for breach of contract and unjust enrichment...

Zach Galifianakis was the toast of the online community at Monday's 15th annual Webby Awards, which celebrate the best of the net.

The Hangover star Galifianakis picked up four trophies - including Best Web Personality and Best Online Variety Show - for his comedy internet series, Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis, a cable-show styled skit which appears on FunnyOrDie.com.

Lisa Kudrow, who hosted the ceremony at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, was also a winner and picked up her own trophies including Best Individual Performance in an Online Video for her show Web Therapy.

LCD Soundsystem are giving fans one final chance to see them in concert - they will stream their last ever gig live online.

The electronic band will bow out of the music industry with a sold out farewell show at New York's Madison Square Garden on April 2nd.

Kanye West's "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" has topped another important end-of-year albums poll after landing the honor from Spin magazine's editors.

The acclaimed album was named the best of 2010 ahead of Deerhunter's "Halcyon Digest" and "The Suburbs" by Arcade Fire.

LCD Soundsystem's "This is Happening" and Jamey Johnson's "The Guitar Song" round out the Spin top five, while albums from M.I.A., Kid Cudi, Janelle Monae, Grinderman and Robyn make the top 10.

LCD Soundsystem halted their set during a music festival in London over the weekend to chastise aggressive revelers who were throwing bottles onstage.

The band was performing at the Wireless Festival in the British capital on Saturday but frontman James Murphy was left fuming when crowd members kept propelling items at them.
