The Killers are an American rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada that was formed in 2001. The band consists of Brandon Flowers (lead vocals, keyboard, occasional bass guitar), Dave Keuning (lead guitar, backing vocals), Mark Stoermer (bass guitar, occasional rhythm guitar, backing vocals) and Ronnie Vannucci Jr. (drums, percussion). The band has sold over 6 million albums in the United States, over 5 million albums in the United Kingdom and over 15 million worldwide.

The group's 2004 debut album, “Hot Fuss” brought the band mainstream success. “Hot Fuss” reached #1 in the U.K. and was certified 6x platinum by the BPI. It has also been certified 3x platinum in the U.S. The band also had chart success with its singles "Mr. Brightside," which reached the Top 10 in the U.K. and U.S., “All These Things That I've Done,” “Somebody Told Me” and “Smile Like You Mean It.”

The Killers' second album, “Sam's Town,” was released in 2006 and debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. The record has been certified 4x platinum in the U.K. and platinum in the U.S. The album produced four singles, “When You Were Young,” “Bones,” “Read My Mind” and “For Reasons Unknown.”

The band released a compilation album called “Sawdust,” containing B-sides, rarities, and some new material in November 2007. “Sawdust” has been certified platinum by the BPI. The album's first single “Tranquilize,” a collaboration with Lou Reed, was released in October 2007.

Their third studio album, “Day & Age,” produced by Stuart Price, was released in 2008. The album has been certified multi-platinum or platinum in the U.K., Ireland, Australia, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand and Spain. The album has also been certified gold in the U.S., Austria, Denmark, The Netherlands, Germany, Greece, Italy, Norway, and Sweden. This makes “Day & Age” The Killers most far reaching international album. The album debuted at #1 on the U.K. Albums chart and it reached #6 in the U.S. The first single from the album, “Human,” reached #6 on Billboard's Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart. It was the band's 6th Top 10 hit on the chart. The song debuted and peaked at #32 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart.
