Puerto Rican hip-hop duo Calle 13 made Latin Grammy Awards history in Las Vegas on Thursday night by picking up nine honors, including the coveted Album of the Year prize for Entren Los Que Quieran.

Stepbrothers Residente and Visitante, who led the nominations with 10, previously shared the record for most wins - five - with Juanes and Juan Luis Guerra.

Colombian rocker Juanes united over a million Cuban fans in the name of peace on Sunday when he defied death threats to play a concert in Havana.

The singer announced plans for the Paz Sin Fronteras (Peace Without Borders) show earlier this summer and was immediately criticized by some Cuban-Americans for the gig, claiming it endorsed the Communist-led government of Fidel and Raul Castro. Colombian pop superstar Juanes has become the first Latino singer to sell six million copies of a single online. The pop star took just a month to hit the magical number of digital downloads with new hit Me enamora.

Colombian Singer Juanes Gets Statue

Colombian singer Juanes has been honored in his native Carolina del Principe with a statue of his likeness. The Latino hunk spent part of his childhood in the town and was recently named prince of the town - the first pop star to receive the accolade.

A statue of the 35-year-old was unveiled in Carolina del Principe's main square on Friday - in front of the house where his late father once lived.

The singer met with dignitaries and Mayor Gabriel Angel Avendano, as part of the town's 220th anniversary celebrations.
