Billy Joel's daughter has assured fans she is OK after collapsing during a show in New York at the weekend (12Apr14).

Alexa Ray Joel was wrapping up her two-week residency at Cafe Carlyle when she fainted and was admitted to New York Presbyterian Hospital, where doctors diagnosed the 28 year old with Vasovagal Syncope - a common cause of fainting which triggers a sudden drop in heart rate and blood pressure.

She issued a statement thanking fans for their support on Monday (14Apr14), and now she insists she is feeling "fine".

Legendary rocker Billy Joel is preparing to turn radio DJ for three months after landing his own satellite channel.

Singer Billy Joel has agreed to donate a portion of the profits from his upcoming birthday (09May14) concert to pal Howard Stern's animal charity campaign.

The proceeds from the Madison Square Garden show will benefit North Shore Animal League's Bianca's Furry Friends campaign, which is headed by the DJ and TV personality and his wife Beth.

The money will help fund a second floor for the Port Washington, New York facility and expand animal care.

Joel's birthday bash is part of a year-long residency for the Piano Man at Madison Square Garden.

Billy Joel has added two dates at the prestigious Hollywood Bowl to his 2014 comeback plans.

The singer/songwriter announced last week (ends06Dec13) that he would be performing at Madison Square Garden in New York once a month throughout the next year - but he's also planning to play on the West Coast.

His first announced dates are 17 and 22 May (14) at the Hollywood Bowl. The first concert will take place a week after the Piano Man turns 65 with a show at Madison Square Garden.
