Joe Simon was born on September 2, 1943 in Simmesport, Louisiana and is a soul singer and R&B musician. Simon rose to success in 1969 when he landed himself a hit single, “Let's Do It Over,” peaking at #13 on the Billboard R&B Singles Chart. Two more hits followed: “Teenager's Prayer” and “The Chokin' Kind” as the 1970s were under way. Simon got his start in music singing in his father's Baptist church. When his family moved to California in the 1950s he decided to pursue a career in music and joined the Golden West Gospel Singers. Simon's debut recording, “Little Island Girl” arrived in 1959.
