Kate Winslet slams pregnancy critics

January 3rd, 2014 6:30am EST
Kate Winslet
Kate Winslet has blasted her pregnancy critics.
The 'Labor Day' actress - who welcomed baby Bear with her husband Ned Rocknroll in December - was outraged to discover the public deemed her "irresponsible" for having three children by three different husbands, and doesn't believe anyone has the right to judge her for her lifestyle choices.
She told British GLAMOUR magazine: "No one has a right to comment on anyone's life or the choices I do or don't make. It's very easy to be judgmental until you know someone's truth. People have no idea at all. It baffles me, truly, that you can publicly tr...

25 Best R&B Albums Of 2013

December 27th, 2013 6:30pm EST
It truly saddens me to see R&B, a personal favorite style of music, in a state of uncertainty.  2013 found the numbers of R&B down considerably, a trend that is consistent year in and year out. Save for a select few commercial bright spots (led by an unexpected Beyoncé album), R&B only dented the charts. Even so, finding 25 albums with some significance wasn’t difficult to do.  Sure, some of the lowest ranked albums have their flaws, but each has some reason for being selected.  Enjoy!

1) Janelle Monáe - The Electric Lady
Bad Boy

In a world where R&B and soul music have cooled off consid...

Kate Winslet worried about wetting herself during Labor Day premiere

October 15th, 2013 6:20am EDT
Kate Winslet
Kate Winslet worried she was going to wet herself at the 'Labor Day' premiere.
The heavily pregnant actress hit the red carpet in London's Leicester Square last night (15.10.13) to promote her new drama as part of the London Film Festival, but was concerned she may have to rush off to the bathroom at any moment.
Asked whether she found it difficult doing press in her condition, Kate joked: "It's fine, actually. I mean, I've still got a way to go, so I'm not quite waddling. Just don't let me sneeze, because I might wet myself at the same time."
The 38-year-old blonde - who has nine-year-old...

Kate Winslet aspires to look 'real' in old age

October 3rd, 2013 1:20am EDT
Kate Winslet
Kate Winslet wants to grow old gracefully.
The Oscar-winning actress is strongly opposed to plastic surgery to reduce wrinkles and aspires to look like "truly beautiful" Hollywood legends Dame Judi Dench, 78, and Meryl Streep, 64, when she is older.
She told Time Out magazine: "My generation of actresses is incredibly lucky. We have people like Meryl Streep and Judi Dench to look up to. Isn't it interesting that those are the actresses we all want to watch? The ones who look real. You can see their lives in their faces. Those are truly beautiful women."
Kate - who has children Mia, 12, and ...

Joe's Pre-Concert Ritual: No Sex And No Food

August 3rd, 2009 3:41pm EDT
R&B singer Joe has an unusual pre-concert ritual - he doesn't allow himself to have sex or eat for hours before showtime.

The "I Wanna Know" singer admits he can't concentrate on his performance when he's satisfied and satiated, and so he gets mentally ready for big shows by abstaining from his two vices for hours on end - so he can focus on pleasing his fans.

He says, "You can't really eat food (and there's) no sex for six hours. It really tires you out. If you eat food before a show it really gets you in a relaxing vibe, and I like to have my energy up when I hit the stage."

And the Grammy-winning star believes his rival labelmate Kelly was to blame, insisting he would call Jive bosses and radio stations and urge them not to promote the singer too strongly.
