Q&A: Meet Punchline's Steve Soboslai

January 31st, 2012 12:05pm EST
Mobbed
Steve Soboslai is a guy your mother would love. I know this because the day I first heard of him, my mother turned to me and said, "Why can't you bring a nice boy like that home?"

Unfortunately for her, he's already got a girlfriend. Steve is known to TV audiences for his recent appearance on FOX's Mobbed, where he enlisted Howie Mandel and a flash mob to profess his feelings to Dana, the woman he loved. With that grand gesture, Steve proved that romance isn't dead.

But as awesome as that was, it's only half of his story. He's also a successful musician, one-fourth of the band Punchli...

Florida Native Hilary McRae Is A Promising Young Talent

April 15th, 2008 7:30pm EDT
Hilary McRae
The good thing is good music is forever. It just needs the ears than can appreciate it. Luckily, every now and again it gets lucky. There's a girl. She's 21 and blonde. However, you might not catch her rolling around in the sand and cooing about penciled in love and how grown she is.

Her voice alone possesses many wonderful traits: beauty, seasoning, unrigged emotion, and mystery. Hilary McRae is not your everyday powdered pink soultress. She's like Wonder Woman equipped with a utility belt that can bring down a New Orleans juke joint in flames. McRae plays the piano, saxopho...

Bruce Springsteen Back On Top

October 25th, 2007 12:26pm EDT
Bruce Springsteen
Bruce Springsteen has waved a wand over the U.S. album charts - taking his Magic back to number one. With just 77,000 copies sold last week, The Boss did enough to topple Kid Rock's Rock N Roll Jesus, which debuted at the top last Wednesday.

Magic entered the chart at number one three weeks ago with sales of 335,000. Kid Rock's new release slips a spot to two, while country trio Rascal Flatts' Still Feels Good stays put at three.

And Christmas has come early for singer Josh Groban - his holiday album Noel jumps up the Billboard chart from 10 to four.

The highest debut belon...

Taken together, the eleven tracks on this record form Jimmy Eat World's most stylistically varied, musically ambitious and lyrically brave recording of their career. Highlights include the irresistible anthem "Electable (Give It Up)," "Carry You" (cited as a highlight of their recent warm-up tour), sure to be future live staples "Let It Happen" and "Always Be" and the haunting ballad—and perhaps most striking song on the album, "Gotta Be Somebody Blues," described by Jim Adkins as "the creepiest thing we have ever done." The result is an album that seamlessly combines deep, heartfelt expres...

In 2003, Mest frontman Tony Lovato fulfilled his childhood dream -- and it almost killed him. As always, Mest gave one hell of a show. "The next day, which was my birthday, I woke up literally in tears because I couldn't move my back at all."

The dedicated band mustered up the energy and continued through the summer. While delivering one insane set after the next, Lovato numbed ...
