"Women hold the power because we have the vaginas. If you're in a heterosexual relationship and you're a female, you win." Megan Fox doles out relationship advice in the October 2009 issue of Cosmopolitan.

Megan talks about her celebrity lesbian fantasy Joan Jett:

"'Joan would never date me, but I would date her like this!' she told the mag, snapping her fingers. 'I love her. Of course, I've never met her, and she would probably hate me, and then I'd cry for weeks.'"

Megan on power and dating actors:

August 26th, 2009 11:00am EDT
Scout Taylor-Compton
The big news about the Joan Jett biopic The Runaways has been Kristen Stewart's turn as the rocker. Fans should also know that all of Stewart's costars worked their butts off jamming to play Jett's first girl band.

"It was a lot of hard work because we basically had to have band practice and we had to learn the instruments in a short amount of time," said Lita Ford actor Scout Taylor-Compton. "We performed for like 8 hours straight. It was crazy. Basically, I felt like I was in a band and I miss it. I miss rehearsal."

Taylor-Compton got pretty good at the lead guitar on some classic R...

Joan Jett apologizes to Kristen Stewart
Rocker Joan Jett apologized to Kristen Stewart after reportedly reducing her to tears during a heated confrontation on the set of upcoming biopic The Runaways.

The pair have struck up a friendship since Stewart signed on to play the I Love Rock N Roll hit-maker in a new biopic about her 1970s band.

However, the actress allegedly broke down crying after Jett gave her a 'hard time' during filming in a bid to improve her performance - prompting the rocker to apologize.

A source tells the New York Daily News, "Joan just wants Kristen to play an authentic version of herself, so she n...

Girl In A Coma To Release 'Trio B.C.' June 2

April 18th, 2009 5:00pm EDT
Girl In A Coma
Girl in a Coma frontwoman Nina Diaz sings, "Oh, I feel so alive," on "Baby Boy," a track from the trio's new album 'Trio B.C.' (out 6/2 on Blackheart Records). A couple of minutes with this pummeling 13-song epic, and you'll know that she isn't fooling around.

Nina spills her guts on 'Trio B.C.'; the intensity of her voice is matched only by her ferocious guitar playing. The rhythm section doesn't hold back, either. Nina's sister, Phanie, is on drums, and Phanie's childhood friend, Jenn Alva, plays bass.

Nina may wear her heart on her sleeve, but the band's influences are sub...

Kristen Stewart
As the star of the Twilight movies, Kristen Stewart has three more big sequels to fulfill the teen vampire love story saga. Perhaps she can introduce this generation to Joan Jett by playing her in a biopic called "The Runaways." However, it'll have to fit in with "Twilight" sequels.

"Right now it's sort of just percolating," Stewart said. "Obviously, I have a short amount of time to do that in between the two other films we're shooting back to back. They shut down for I think like eight weeks in New Moon and Eclipse. I'm just listening to her music all the time. I spent New Year'...

Writer's Viewpoint: Disputing An Iconic Song List

Beatles
It takes a cataclysmic event to derail Overrated/Underrated from its usual Friday spot. Currently the Oscars have been serving as that disruptive force, but this week interruption comes from the most unlikely source: a sports columnist from the Kansas City Star.

This is because Joe Posnanski has suggested on his blog that we stop voting artists into the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame and shift our focus to Hall-Worthy songs. Songs he deems "Iconic". His criterion for including a song on the ballot is that it be "A song that represents a set of beliefs or a way of life. So, I see these s...

Granted, Scotland is best known for its bagpipes and teary-eyed sad bastard music. Seriously, what you see is what you get here – four rough-neck chicks belting out loud, blustering, bar music. Of course, these no-frills femme fatales follow in the footsteps of the much more testosterone-dominated Stooges, or the slipshod pop punk of the Ramones. But we can certainly hear some of that soaring, chick-empowerment of Joan Jett or the slop-pop of Veruca Salt, too. And wi...
