Jessie JamesDaughter of a Gypsy Release Date 2010 09 28 Label Mercury After the sucess of the surpise pop country single &"My Cowboy," the dance chart single &"Wanted," and the hip hop-driven pop in &"Blue Jeans" that appeared in the film Confessions Of A Shopaholic, Jessie James' self titled Mercury debut did well enough to warrant a sophomore relase. She preceded her second set with the Soutern pop single &"Boys in the Summer” co-written with James Michael, produced by John Fields, with a country mix by Mark Wright. While the track made it to 16 on the Bubbling Under chart in Billboard and peaked outside the magazine's Top 40 Hot Country Songs, because of radio play and its video, it nonetheless created a buzz for Daughter Of A Gypsy. The album was produced by Fields--who also helmed sessions for everyone from Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers to Switchfoot and Jimmy Eat World). Its sound walks the line that marked her debut, which combines the contemporary country senibilities of Shania Twain's best work and the mainstream pop oriented sounds of Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez, but its Twain's influence that reins supreme.
