-Boney James :Christmas Present

Urban Jazz sax icon Boney James follows his Top 10 R&B and #1 Contemporary Jazz album Shine with a stirring new collection of holiday classics entitled Christmas Present from Concord Records. The album finds James teaming up with fellow Grammy nominees Anthony Hamilton (on the holiday standard Silent Night) and Angie Stone (on an update of the Charles Brown chestnut Merry Christmas, Baby).

Also featured on the album are soul songstress Chanté Moore on the Eartha Kitt hit "Santa Baby" and former James collaborator, contemporary jazz trumpet sensation...

His name is synonymous with smooth jazz - with a staggering 50 #1 charting airplay hits, and the unique experience in 2006 of scoring a #1 Radio & Records chart hit as both an artist and producer. He is Grammy® award winning mega producer, composer/arranger and recording artist Paul Brown, and he will make his label debut on Peak Records with the release of his latest solo CD White Sand, February 27.

Concord Records is delighted to announce the release of Shine, the new album by acclaimed saxophonist Boney James, on Sept. 26. Shine, the two-time Grammy nominee’s 10th album – and first for Concord – features guest appearances by hip-hop/soul diva Faith Evans, jazz-guitar icon George Benson, R&B vocalists Dwele and Phillip Bailey, keyboard wizard George Duke, alternative-pop singer Esthero and Sounds of Blackness powerhouse Ann Nesby.

Boney produced the disc and played tenor, soprano and alto saxes, keyboards and flute. He wrote or co-wrote nine of Shine’s 12 tracks.
