Rolling Stones tour promoter denies poor ticket sales

May 8th, 2013 9:49am EDT
The Rolling Stones' concert promoter has hit back at rumours the band's current U.S. trek has been blighted by poor ticket sales, insisting the tour is "doing great".

The rockers initially failed to sell out their 50 & Counting world tour opener in Los Angeles on Friday (03May13) as fans refused to spend $600 (£375) on best-seat tickets but a last-minute slash of prices to $85 (£54) enabled the band to play to a packed house.

Reports suggested sluggish sales had forced concert promoters to drastically cut ticket prices but John Meglen, co-president of AEG Live subsidiary Concerts West, i...

The band's tour kicks off at the Staples Center in Los Angeles Friday night, and according to Entertainmentwise.com the show isn't even sold out. The site reports that even scalpers -- er, ticket brokers, have even lowered their prices in attempt to sell them.

More than 1,000 tickets to the show were also put on sale by promoter AEG ...

July 12th, 2012 11:19am EDT
Mick Jagger
Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger has been a very busy man, and not because he’s been making music.

According to a biographer, the rock legend has shared a bed with over 4,000 women. And while Jagger’s “number” still doesn’t come close to Wilt Chamberlain’s 20,000, that is still a lot of women.

“Mick Jagger has slept with 4,000 women over the course of his life, and in retrospect, I think that might be kind of a low figure,” biographer Chris Andersen reveals.

Carla Bruni, Angelina Jolie, Uma Thurman and Farrah Fawcett are among the rock star’s past sex partners. Jagger also slept with ...

There's sure to be some good jokes when Mick Jagger hosts the season finale of Saturday Night Live May 19, but one of the biggest laughs could come from the fact that the cast members sharing the stage with the singer weren't alive when the Rolling Stones were formed.
