Janet Jackson's attorney is demanding a retraction from Vanity Fair magazine over a report which suggested the singer delayed her late brother Michael's funeral over a financial dispute.

Lawyer Blair G. Brown has slammed claims printed in the November issue that Janet held up the burial in 2009 while waiting to be repaid the $40,000 she gave to cemetery bosses as a deposit for a burial plot.

Moviemaker John Landis and the administrators of Michael Jackson's estate have settled their three-year legal battle over rights to the Thriller video.

The promo's director Landis and producer George Folsey, Jr. sued Jackson and his company, Optimum Productions, five months before his death in June 2009, claiming they were owed money for work on the iconic 1983 video.

The executors of Michael Jackson's estate are on course to pay off the late singer's $500 million debt by the end of the year.
