Some artists constantly change up their formula, while others are content.  There is nothing wrong with being content, but sometimes it puts your artistry into serious questioning.  There are many artists I could characterize as ‘one dimensional’, but I chose five who truly epitomize this description.  And yes, some of these are artists I highly respect and listen to.  I’m a meanie, I know.

R&B star India Arie has slammed Zoe Saldana's casting as jazz legend Nina Simone, branding the move "ridiculous".

Cynthia Mort, director of upcoming biopic Nina, has been forced to defend her choice of Saldana for the title role following a wave of criticism, including from the late singer's daughter Simone Kelly.

Now, Arie has waded into the controversy after seeing photographs of the Avatar actress wearing prosthetics while filming the movie, insisting Saldana looks "weird".

R&B star India.Arie has settled a lawsuit with her former manager, who alleged the singer failed to pay for her services before ending their professional relationship.

Noreen Nalli, who served as Arie's manager between 2005 and 2009, filed a lawsuit at a federal court in Tennessee claiming her former client dumped her without warning two years ago and failed to pay for her services in full.

The legal papers suggested Arie owed money to Nalli, but the singer counter-sued, claiming she overpaid her former representative.

Singer/songwriter India.Arie has taken aim at Lady Gaga and Beyonce's saucy new video for "Telephone," calling the promo "socially irresponsible."

The "Video" hitmaker launched her blistering Twitter.com attack on the 10-minute promo last week, asking followers, "Am I the only one who thinks the telephone video is going a bit too far?"

Her comments sparked a weekend of debate between her fans and Gaga's.
