Sky Ferreira denies quitting Miley Cyrus tour

Pop singer Sky Ferreira has shot down rumours she's abandoned Miley Cyrus' tour after injuring herself during a show last month (Feb14).

The singer is Cyrus' opening act on her Bangerz tour, but she hasn't been onstage in recent weeks after she sliced her leg open during a concert in Anaheim, California and needed 60 stitches.

The star has now denied reports she has quit the trek for good, insisting she took time out to promote her album Night Time, My Time and will be back later this month (Mar14).

Pop duo Icona Pop have Rihanna to thank for the U.S. success of their I Love It hit last year (13) - the producers of cult show Girls had to use their song in a pivotal scene after the R&B beauty refused to let them air her tune Talk That Talk.

Girls music supervisor Manish Raval reveals he initially wanted the Rihanna song to play during a memorable, cocaine-fuelled dancing scene, but the Umbrella hitmaker and her managers turned down his request.

Icona Pop postpone dates as Aino Jawo falls ill

Pop duo Icona Pop have scrapped a string of North American dates to allow singer Aino Jawo time to recover from an undisclosed illness.

Upcoming shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vancouver and Seattle have been postponed.

A spokesperson for the duo tells WENN, "Aino Jawo has received strict orders from her doctor to rest in order to complete the last leg of their Iconic Tour tour next month. The tour will commence in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 9 and we are working hard to reschedule the postponed dates for later this year."

Icona Pop wrote to Tupac's mum for sample permission

Swedish girl group Icona Pop reached out to Tupac Shakur's mother for permission to sample the late rapper's music in one of their songs.

The I Love It hitmakers were determined to use a portion of the hip-hop star's track Me And My Girlfriend on their upcoming single Girlfriend, but wanted to make sure his mum Afeni approved.

Singer Aino Jawo explains, "We are huge Tupac fans. We made a fun twist: He was singing about his gun, and we're singing about our friendship.

"We actually had to write a letter to Tupac's mum to ask if we could use that part. We sent her the song and she liked it....

Icona Pop land first U.K. number one single

Swedish DJs Icona Pop have taken the U.K. singles chart by storm with the release of their hit track I Love It.

The collaboration with Charli XCX earned the duo its first U.K. number one, bumping Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke, T.I., and Pharrell Williams to second place.

Bang Bang by will.i.am entered at three, just ahead of Walk Like Rihanna by The Wanted at four and La La La by Naughty Boy and Sam Smith at five.

In the U.K. albums chart, Tom Odell's Long Way Down premiered in the top spot, while Rod Stewart's Time entered at two.
