Ice Cube insists he was a "fan" of Paul Walker.

The rapper had blasted the MTV Movie Awards for overlooking him and his 'Ride Along' co-star in the Best Onscreen Duo category at Sunday's ceremony in favor of the later actor who died in a car accident in November - and his 'Fast and Furious 6' co-star Vin Diesel, but has now insisted his remarks that they took a "sympathy" vote was misunderstood and he felt Paul should have been honored before his death.

Ice Cube has blasted the MTV Movie Awards for giving the Best Onscreen Duo trophy to Paul Walker posthumously.

The rapper believes the 'Fast & Furious 6' star, who died in a car crash in November, and his co-star Vin Diesel only won out of "sympathy" on Sunday night (04.13.14), and insists he and his 'Ride Along' co-star Kevin Hart were "robbed."

Comedy Ride Along has landed a third week on top of the North American box office.

The film, which stars Kevin Hart and Ice Cube, brought in $12.3 million (GBP7.7 million) over the weekend (01-02Feb14) to keep hold of the top spot.

Coming in second is Disney's animated blockbuster Frozen with $9.3 million (GBP5.8 million) and Zak Efron's new dating comedy Awkward Moment, which trails closely behind with $9 million (GBP5.6 million).

Ride Along still on top in U.S. as Frankenstein flops

Ice Cube and Kevin Hart's comedy Ride Along has scored a second week at the top of the U.S. box office as new release I, Frankenstein becomes the first monstrous flop of the year.

The action movie, which stars Aaron Eckhart as the monster, was expected to debut in second place but comes in sixth with a disappointing $8.3 million (GBP5.9 million).

War movie Lone Survivor and animated hit The Nut Job round out the new number three.

Ride Along adds another $21.2 million (GBP13.2 million) to its two-week haul, taking the film's tally past the $75 million (GBP47 million) mark.

Rapper/actor Ice Cube took the skies above Los Angeles on Monday (20Jan14) after accepting a Ride Along with bosses at Goodyear as part of a charity initiative.

The former N.W.A. star was celebrating the 20th anniversary of his hit Today Was a Good Day, which references the Goodyear blimp, a sky-high staple that often floats above sports events and concerts in the City of Angels.

Rap and movie mogul Ice Cube has confirmed reports of a planned biopic about his groundbreaking former group N.W.A.

The "It Was a Good Day" hitmaker fronted the original gangsta rap act with Dr. Dre and admits he's working on a new film about "the world's most dangerous group."

He says, "I think N.W.A. changed a lot in pop culture and people should see how we started, how the neighborhood we came from created N.W.A. and then N.W.A. changed the neighborhoods we come from. It's definitely a story that needs to be told."

Film bosses behind upcoming movie Lottery Ticket have been hit with a lawsuit from a screenwriter who alleges his idea was stolen.

Tom Huang filed papers at Los Angeles County Superior Court on Wednesday claiming he wrote a treatment for a movie plot in 2004 and talked it over with his agent Brad Kaplan.

The writer alleges Kaplan "stole" the idea and passed it on to his client Erik White, who wrote and directed Lottery Ticket, about a young man who has to fend off his greedy neighbors when they discover he's holding a winning ticket worth $350 million."
