Adina Howard was born on November 14, 1974 and is a Grand Rapids, MI, native. Howard made a splash in the R&B world with her debut album “Do You Wanna Ride?” on Elektra Records and the hugely successful platinum single, "Freak Like Me” in 1995. “Do you want to ride?” also went Gold, making Howard an overnight sensation. Howard's second album in 1998, “Welcome To Fantasy Island,” generated some critical reviews, proving “Do You Wanna Ride?” to be a hard act to follow. The lead single of that album, "Freak, And U Know It" had some marginal success. Howard and Elektra parted ways soon afterward.

After a six year hiatus, Howard released her third album “The Second Coming”(2004) on Rufftown Records to a luke-warm responses from the critics. “Private Show” (2007 on Arsenal Records) marked Howard's fourth and final album to date. The album reached #17 on the iTunes R&B music sells chart but didn't make the Billboard 200 charts. After low album sales Howard parted ways with Arsenal Records. In 2009 a UK compilation record, "Independent Soul Divas 2" was released featuring "What Do I Do," recorded by Howard in 2008.
